The Hoosiers seem to be set for the future at the quarterback position with Michael Penix and Jack Tuttle both being underclassmen. However, the Hoosiers are always looking further down the road when it comes to scholarship QBs. The Hoosiers found their answer in dual-threat signal caller Dexter Williams out of Macon, Georgia.
Williams had a tremendous senior season as he went over 2,500 total yards and scored 29 touchdowns. As an early enrollee, Williams will get a head start on his development at IU. Williams chose the Hoosiers over offers from 15 other schools. Indiana was his only Power Five offer.
Williams has a strong arm and quick release, which is an absolute must-have for successful quarterbacks in the Big Ten.
Williams gave himself a self-scouting report before he committed to IU. “The best way to describe my style of play is that I WIN! Using all the tools and weapons in my arsenal that God gave me mentally and physically, I do whatever it takes to be the victor every time I step in between those white lines. I can throw but I can also run just as well and keep the chains moving every series,” Williams told Hoosier Huddle back in June.
