It was an eventful weekend for former Hoosiers in the NFL. Eight IU players were active this week and two Hoosier running backs, Tevin Coleman and Jordan Howard, have emerged as the primary rushers for San Francisco and Philadelphia respectively. There are no Indiana alums active on Monday Night Football; here is your NFL Week 6 recap.

Tevin Coleman – San Francisco 49ers

Tevin Coleman and the 49ers moved to 5-0 on the season with a big win over the LA Rams. For the second straight week, Coleman found the end zone, this time on a two-yard run up the guy. Coleman would finish the game with 18 carries for 45 yards. He also added two receptions for 16 yards. It was just his second game back from an ankle sprain, but Coleman hasn’t missed a beat. It’s early, but San Francisco looks like the team to beat in the NFC and Tevin Coleman is just getting started.

Jordan Howard – Philadelphia Eagles

Jordan Howard and the Eagles suffered a tough loss on the road against Minnesota. Howard led the team in rushing attempts and yards (13 carries for 49 yards), but Philadelphia couldn’t get their offense going. Howard has 297 yards on the season with four rushing touchdowns. The Eagles hope to get back on track next week when they travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys on Sunday night.

Ian Thomas – Carolina Panthers

Ian Thomas was active but did not record a statistic in Carolina’s victory over Tampa Bay in London. Thomas has yet to be involved in the Panthers offense this season, but the young tight end hopes to carve out a role. Carolina sits at 4-2 on the season, one game out of the division lead.

Cody Latimer – New York Giants

The Giants slow start to the season continued with a loss to the Patriots on Thursday night. Cody Latimer did not record a catch as he works his way back into the offense after missing some time with injury. Latimer has six receptions for 104 yards on the season.

Nate Sudfeld – Philadelphia Eagles

Nate Sudfeld was active after suffering a fractured wrist during the preseason. Sudfeld was listed as the third-string quarterback for the Eagles, behind Carson Wentz and Josh McCown. Philadelphia lost in Minnesota to move to 3-3 on the season.

Chris Covington – Dallas Cowboys

Chris Covington was inactive for the Cowboys loss against the Jets.

Dan Feeney – Los Angeles Chargers

Dan Feeney was active for the Chargers loss at home against the Steelers on Sunday night. Feeney continued his durable start to the season, but LA’s offense sputtered, failing to score points until the fourth quarter. The Chargers are now 2-4 on the year.

Brandon Knight – Dallas Cowboys

Brandon Knight made his first career start for the Dallas Cowboys in their loss against the Jets.

Wes Martin – Washington Redskins

Wes Martin was inactive for Washington’s victory over Miami.

Roger Saffold – Tennessee Titans

Roger Saffold and the Titans were blanked by the Broncos. Tennessee is now 2-4 on the season and their offense continues to struggle mightily.

Jason Spriggs – Green Bay Packers

Jason Spriggs remains on Injured Reserve and was inactive for Green Bay on Monday night.
