A unanimous three-star and top-50 recruit out of Virginia, Ellison spent the past four seasons at Wake Forest before following fellow Demon Deacon, WR Ke’Shawn Williams to Bloomington.
Ellison made an immediate impact for the Demon Deacons during his freshman season, appearing in 8 games and rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries.
Ellison continued his success on the field over the next three seasons, where he played in 35 games with 20 total starts. As a sophomore, he led the team in yards per carry (5.1) and ranked 2nd in rushing yards (541) and rushing touchdowns (7), as well as catching 7 passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.
As a junior, Ellison had his best season to date, leading the team in rushing yards (707) and carries (170) and finishing 2nd on the team in rushing touchdowns (6). Additionally, Ellison caught 6 passes for 62 yards. All of this earned Ellison a third-team All-ACC selection. Ellison continued his production during his senior season, finishing 2nd on the team in rushing yards (548) and attempts (120), rushing for a touchdown, and catching 10 passes for 61 yards.
Coming into the 2024 season, Ellison looks to continue his success with the Hoosiers. Given his abilities both as a rusher and a receiver out of the backfield, Ellison seems poised to do just that. Look for him to have a breakout season and help distinguish himself in IU’s talented running back room.
