Jochem is a walk-on wide receiver out of Pine-Richland in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. He joined the program during fall camp in 2021. Jochem had an outstanding high school career winning a state title in 2020. The individual awards were there as well as Jochem earned 2020 All-PA First Team honors as well as being named a Tribune-Review All-Star. He graduated as Pine-Richland’s all-time leader in receptions, yards, and receiving touchdowns in a single season.
He has yet to see any game action for the Hoosiers but has multiple Scout Team Player of the Week honors over the last two seasons. He also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2022.
Indiana head coach Tom Allen said Jochem was “one of our receivers that continues to give us great effort. Eli does an awesome job for us” after the receiver earned Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Week last season.
Jochem is a player everyone can root for and is looking to earn his way on the field on one of the special teams units.
