Welcome, Hoosiers fans to the 2023 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! We countdown from 100 days to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season on September 2nd against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Every day, we look at players on the current roster and highlight the players' roles in the upcoming season. Today we dive into Freshman Offensive Linemen Austin Barrett.

Height/Weight: 6’7”/275
A three-star from St. Charles East High School Barrett received much interest but decided to take his talents to Bloomington to join the Hoosiers and new offensive line coach Bob Bostad. Overall he received 18 offers and nine were from power five schools. 247 Profile
He was a top 25 recruit in the state and played in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl last season. He also wrestled in high school indicating that his athletic and can play both sides of the line. His brother currently plays for Wisconsin.
Head coach Tom Allen and Bostad are very excited about the young man. Allen had this to say about him after he signed. “He's a big, long athlete who plays offensive tackle, I love that he's a wrestler. I love his toughness and attitude. He has a tremendously high ceiling.
