2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 66 Days (Noah Bolticoff)

Written by: Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today we look at transfer offensive lineman Noah Bolticoff.

Name: Noah Bolticoff

Hometown: Rose Hill, Kansas (Rose Hill)

Position: Offensive Line

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Height/Weight: 6’5”/305 pounds

Social Media: Twitter (@NBolticoff)

The Hoosiers got a transfer portal surprise when Noah Bolticoff left TCU and joined the Hoosiers in late April. He played in one game as a true freshman in 2021 and played in six games as the Horned Frogs made their way to the National Championship game. Bolticoff earned second-team Academic All-Big 12 accolades as well in 2022.

Bolticoff adds depth to the Hoosiers offensive line and could play his way into the starting lineup once fall camp starts. At the very least he will be in the rotation and make the Hoosiers much better in terms of quality depth especially with his ability to play tackle and guard.

Gabe Brooks of 247Sports gave this scouting report of Bolticoff coming out of high school where he was the third best player in the state of Kansas:

“Big-framed offensive line prospect with the playing experience and build that project to tackle. Possesses frame space to get to desired mass in college strength and conditioning program. Sets with good, wide base in pass pro. Shows encouraging hand placement as a pass blocker. Gets to the second level in the run game with relative ease. Quick off the ball. Can improve initial punch power at the point of attack. More of a catcher than a puncher at this point. Finishes blocks when opportunity arises, but will need to build overall strength, particularly in lower body, to continue development as a drive-blocker in the run game. Power 5-caliber offensive line prospect with tackle build, but potential to provide position versatility.”

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on with Day 65 tomorrow!
