2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 33 Days (David Holloman)

Written by: Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will take a look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today’s profile features redshirt sophomore running back David Holloman.

Name: David Holloman

Hometown: Auburn Hills, MI (Avondale)

Position: Running Back

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Height/Weight: 6’0”/205 pounds

The second player on day 33 is running back David Holloman who was part of the 2021 recruiting class. Holloman was a Sports Illustrated All-American candidate in 2019 as he rushed for 1,236 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding a kick return and punt return TD.

At IU Holloman redshirted the 2021 season while playing in four games. He ran the ball 11 times for 34 yards. Last season, Holloman did not see any game action.

The redshirt sophomore has speed, he did run a 4.29 40-yard dash in high school but has not been able to break into the running back or kick return rotation. Holloman will be behind Josh Henderson, Jaylin Lucas and Christian Turner at least to start the year, but his speed is enticing enough to try and find a role for him in the rotation.

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on with Day 32 tomorrow!
