Caleb Murphy
-Height: 6’4’’
-Weight: 270 pounds
-Hometown: Campbellsburg, IN
-Position: Defensive Line/Tight End
Caleb Murphy began his career as a Hoosier last year. During his first season under head coach Tom Allen, Murphy didn’t see any playing time on the field. Murphy was on the scout team for the week leading up to the Wisconsin game.
When Murphy first arrived at IU, he was a defensive lineman, however, during the season he switched positions and became a tight end. Peyton Hendershot will receive most of the reps at tight end this season, but Murphy will battle for playing time during training camp at tight end or on special teams. He is, however, listed as a defensive lineman on the 2021 IUHoosiers.com roster.
Before coming to IU, Murphy was an offensive and defensive lineman at West Washington High School. In high school, he was All-State his junior year before ending his career with an injury during his senior year. Murphy was the No. 6 overall recruit in Indiana coming out of high school as well.
