The Indiana Hoosiers have begun to make some inroads in the talent-rich state of Texas recently and IU’s newest signee is a clear signal the Hoosiers won’t stop dipping into that well anytime soon. Alfred Bryant is a 3-star defensive end from Manvel, Texas and he chose IU over offers from Arkansas, California, Cincinnati and Colorado. Mark Hagen and Noah Joseph were his primary recruiters and the hope is that the speedy pass rusher can add depth and perhaps immediately inject new life into IU’s ability to get after opposing quarterbacks.

He’ll likely end up along the line given IU’s need for an increased pass rush. IU has a number of returning and incoming players along the front but if the coaches feel Bryant, or any of the other newcomers, would make a positive impact by being on the field, they will play in 2017.

“It’s just a good place to be,” Bryant said upon committing to IU in July of 2016. “They’re coming up in Big Ten football and I wanted to be a part of it.
