2021 Countdown to Kickoff: 75 Days (Luke Wiginton)

Exactly 75 days remain until kickoff of the 2021 IU football season. The Hoosiers will kick off the season against Iowa on Sept. 4th. Make sure to keep checking the Hoosier Huddle website each day for a new player in the 100-day countdown. Today’s featured player is redshirt freshman Luke Wiginton. 

Luke Wiginton

Height/Weight; 6’5”/310 lbs.

Hometown: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Position: Offensive Lineman

Year: Redshirt Freshman

Wiginton didn’t see any time during his freshman season last year. This season with much of last year’s O-line returning, the former three-star recruit will look to provide some much needed depth to the line.

Wiginton comes out of Bishop Dwenger High School where he was an all-state selection his senior year. He was also named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association top 50. During his senior year the team rushed for over 2,400 yards. He also was a part of the state championship team in 2018.

Wiginton will look to fight for some playing time this season on the offensive line in order to protect Michael Penix Jr.
