I just became a dog owner again for the first time in about 6 years in February. Searched around different shelters as I wanted to get a rescue and finally landed on what I thought was a smaller black lab mix from a rescue in Asheville. He's only about 40 lbs and when I did the DNA testing, it said 32% shih tzu, 27% pit bull and then 12 other breeds, but none more than 8%.
One of my earliest neighbors was a great guy who was a UNC grad (I lived in Charlotte NC at the time), and I used to kid him that I was going to adopt a dog and name it Hoosier, so I could go outside every day and yell at his house: "Let's Go Hoosier!". Well, David passed away many years ago, but I kept my promise! Meet Hoosier!
PS, the football Hoosiers have never lost in his lifetime! Great to have a dog again!
Nice dog! Definitely has the Lab look. That big snout looks like a hunting lab. Funny he isn't mainly that.
Hello Hoosier!
Do you smell a good basketball season in the air?

@openwheel Yeah, it even fooled his Vet, who also said lab mix. A couple people said possibly pit bull, but absolutely no one said Shih Tzu, which I still have a hard time seeing. He's a little guy though. 40 lbs, but he's solid, probably half the size of what you'd guess from pics and for a lab. It's odd because I don't think of Shih Tzu or Pit Bulls generally being a solid color and he's jet black, except for a tiny tuft of white on his chest. Also has the multi-colored tongue like a Chow, which I think was like 5%.

Man, I sure hope so! We're so overdue I think the program owes the library about $10,000 in fines!
