- Turncoat/ CCP spy, Eileen Gu, qualifies 2nd in freeski slopestyle after falling on her first attempt. Unfortunately she didn’t break anything or get seriously injured.
- Lindsey Vonn is a bad woman. Skiing on a torn ACL at 41 years old. A gold in women’s downhill would rival 2025 IUFB for one of the best sports stories of all time.
- American Jordan Stolz is the Michael Phelps of speed skating. Be sure to tune in.
- A Canada/ U.S. men’s hockey final is a near certainty, with the U.S. having their best chance to take home gold in decades.

at least there is no comparable winter event to the breakdancing shite. (yet...)

Every four years I have to spend three weeks hating Norwegians. Their dominance in the Winter Olympics is the equivalent of Grenada repelling the U.S. invasion.
5.6 million people and they tear us up in the medal table with cross country skiing and ski jumping.
I don’t care about their culture or geography. It Should. Not. Happen.

Vonn went out on her shield. What a warrior. Probably should have let someone capable of racing have that spot though. Oh well, Americans still won gold.

Surprised to hear that Vonn broke her leg. I assumed her injury would have been related to the ruptured ACL, and while on the same leg, I don't think the two would be related. Or could they? Calling @drjb.

from what I saw she clipped that gate hard, got off balance then airborne.
at that speed and hitting the ground (ice) with skiis twisting your legs all around
I'm surprised that's all she broke regardless of the acl
I remember back in the day skiing an easy podunk slalom course in Colorado, the ruts around the gates are pretty much ice and the snow is anything but soft no matter what they say
I hope she's ok but prob. time to hang it up.

I actually think it was selfish of Vonn to take that spot. We were talking about that last week, and sure enough today happens. It has to be hard for a competitor, but once she was injured, I think she should have let the alternate go.
