@hurryinghoosiers I present a rare combination of education street smarts and common sense tho it can be questioned inasmuch as I elect to engage with a person who presents none of the above like yourself

so because i point out that you are trying to masquerade your opinion as though it is fact, that requires you to toss back an insult?

Good.  That guy is a shit bird politician.  I've voted the other way since he tried to raise the age for legal tobacco use from 18 to 21 under the guise of protecting school kids. He's just another R who thinks that the right kind of government can solve anything with one more law.

Why do you like the pick of Pulte for DNI? What's good about this selection, other than your boy Trump picked him?  I'm all ears.

He's a terrible pick. He's wholly unqualified (no national security or intelligence experience) and would never survive the confirmation process if Trump wanted him in the role permanently. In fact, federal law would PRECLUDE his confirmation because the law requires that the DNI must have "extensive national security expertise." Again, he has none.

Trump doesn't care about Pulte's lack of qualifications, though.  As I said yesterday, Trump just needs him in the role for the next several months so that he can fuck with the midterms. Just today, Trump said Pulte is "a very smart guy, and you may find out some things about the rigged elections." There you go. Trump always tips his hand, but you guys just look the other way until Trump follows through, and then it becomes a nothingburger and/or entirely justified.  Lol.

When I alluded to this yesterday, the poster (Stevens) who's unable to post anything without AI assistance mocked the theory that Trump picked Pulte because he's already proven to be an effective loyalist and attack dog, and Trump wants his help in interfering with the midterms. LOL. Today Trump confirmed it.

You and a few others here should stop the constant scrolling.  Social media is destroying your brain.

Just like here, he'll stick his neck out every once in a while, but only when it won't make a difference.

There are 18 different agencies in the "intelligence community." Fucking eighteen. Most of those should go, too.

Tulsi was very poorly qualified and Pulte was totally unqualified. So much so that Republican Senators telegraphed they wouldn’t confirm him. This guy will probably be OK.

Having read up on Clayton, he appears to have no intelligence or national security experience which is a requirement in the law for the DNI. Maybe he's actually not really qualified. On the other hand, I've come around to the idea that the office can be eliminated. The DNI came to be after the 9/11 Commission's findings and the idea made sense - basically to coordinate and consolidate intelligence from all the different intelligence agencies. 17 of them (maybe some of those could be consolidated), so it made some sense. In practice it doesn't seem to have worked out so well. I think they should look at eliminating the office and maybe designating one of the Directors (most likely the CIA Director), give him elements of the DNI's office, and have him to do the coordination and consolidation. Make him/her dual hatted.
