I heard AOC’s post Mamdani’s election speech and it was just downright scary. Anybody who is concerned about the future soundness and effectiveness of the U.S. government ought to be concerned.
AOC talked about the coalition of voters she was putting together to become the Democratic Party. She said the members of the Democratic coalition to move the party forward into the future were blacks, Latinos, women, LBGTQ+, and all marginalized people. Think about this. Political coalitions used to be centered along policies, you know, like Euopean parliamentary coalitions. For AOC, a power in Democratic circles, a voting coalition consists of people with certain immutable, or personal ID, markers. Of course her subtext is to do politics based on race, sex, status, etc. not based upon how to fix education, immigration, spending itc.
This is no way to do politics or policy. But it is the way of the Democratic Party.
