@bulk-vh I’m uncertain what you perceive my views are and while I know countless progressives I can’t say I’ve met nor even seen a MAGA Militia guy but my guess is they believe they are protecting our country’s right to bear arms, against socialism, foreign border invasion etc. As it relates to government coercion of individual rights I suspect they’d agree with me. Every last thing I’ve written is in compliance with the letter of the law.  Shooter is trying to circumvent the law or create a false narrative.  The only issue at issue is suspicion and no one in this thread can answer that bit. What I can answer is if you abide by social contract theory and have nothing to hide your interaction with “the state” in this would have lasted seconds.

@bulk-vh That's why I believe we're two people on one land.  I disagree with many who believe that it's the fringe with the voice but most of us still fundamentally agree.  Trump is one end progressives the other.  I once thought that was true, that we all largely agree, but I don't anymore, particularly with Mamdani winning NYC and his beliefs.  I think AOC, Mamdani, the Squad, Trump/MAGA revealed us.  I think half the country believes one thing and the other half the other, unfortunately.

I wonder how all the MAGA militia guys would receive your views in this thread?

There wouldn't be too many words spoken.  Mrs.  Washburn loves a man in uniform.

I'm pretty sure "washburn" has begun to compete with "bitcoin" in your limited lexicon.

Police can't stop us anytime they like with no reason, legally.

I was about 19, playing D&D all night at a buddy's. About 2AM I drove 3 others to 7-11 so we could stock up on Mt Dew and other health food like that.

On the way back, a beautiful night so our windows were down, stopped at a 4 way, we were laughing a lot. We tried hard to crack each other up. A cop coming to the 4-way heard it and pulled us over. Asked for my license. My lights were on, we were at a complete stop at that 4-way so it couldn't be speeding or running it. He heard us laughing. I would prefer we have the right to laugh, even at night.

But back to the video of Bondi or whomever it was, she said they have a right to ID everyone "in the vicinity" of a stop. If someone is in the vicinity but A) doesn't interfere and B) not known as someone with an outstanding issue, I don't think being in the vicinity constitutes a cause of any kind by itself.

What Shooter doesn't seem to grasp, because he is a child crippled by NPD and devoid of the ability to think past "good vs bad," is that this kind of thing has been going on for a long time, under many different administrations, at the fed and state level.  LEO's job is to catch bad guys.  They sometimes use dishonest tactics to do so.

I grasp it fine. They are allowed to lie, allowed to ask for things they have no right to obtain, have always done ao, and it is also absolutely right for the person to refuse.

What SharoMurt doesn't seem to grasp is that, in fact, sticking up for your own rights is a patriotic act

No, it’s a selfish act.  A patriotic act would be to comply & aid their efforts to rid this country of the illegals that siphon resources from citizens.

So it looks like it is very difficult to bring a suit. Which is an interesting concept that it is very difficult to seek redress if one feels a government agent has violated one's constitutional rights. The Brits at the Boston Massacre, representing what we assured everyone was a tyrannical government, had no such immunity.

Since the government has flat out said it will not investigate, it appears the investigation I was assured was coming may not be.

@arthur-dent I have my reservations here. First never ask agenda driven nonprofit lawyers. Ask Plaintiffs lawyers. Second no one cares about suing the agent.  Agent doesn’t have money.  When you sue a police dept over a bad cop you sue the department/city.  You sue the agency. Third an administrative element first doesn’t have to mean much. Employment claims you go through EEOC first by way of example.

Yes, it is very difficult to bring suit.  The video I think you might have attached earlier made that clear.

Suing the govt. is always difficult. Trust me, I've lost plenty!

@arthur-dent

There is nothing unusual here. If an injured party believes a federal official or agency has violated a constitutional right, a Bivens case could be brought. If a party is injured by a federal official or agency through negligence or other tort, the remedy is under the Federal Tort Claims Act. This has been the law for decades and is substantially the same as state claims. I’ll agree, though, the FTCA is pretty strict.
