@shooter If they're here illegally they are criminals. Their being here is following criminal behavior. Good Lord man.
How do you know who "they" are? Accent? Skin tone? How they walk? Maybe they like empanadas?
Just because you see someone who doesn't "look American" to you doesn't mean you can involve them in an "immigration sweep".
Good Lord man.
This thread is gold. The fat fucking moron who proudly claimed neighbors wearing red hats in the distance would be considered evil Trumpers has now decried people who judge others based on external factors.

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

This is comedy gold. Some of us remember your posts on the old board. No way you would draw conclusions based on how someone looks or how they were dressed. Am I right?
You are a clown. It’s no wonder your dad and brothers kicked you off the farm
We all need to comply.
When federal authorities want to drag you from your car, you comply.
When they want you to show them your papers, you comply.
When they want to put you in an unmarked car, you comply.
When they want to put you in a cell in 95 degree heat in Florida with no AC, denying requests to contact family or lawyers, you comply.
When they want to load you into a boxcar, you comply.
When they pull your gold fillings and make you line up for a shower, you comply.
It isn't hard, people. Mach schnell.

I HATE forced compliance. Reminds me a lot of Covid. Except getting out of Covid restrictions wasn't as easy as simply flashing my ID.
@shooter Show your ID. Like everywhere requires. This isn’t hard. Even for you and your No Kings beta protestors. Freak.
Stay on the sidewalk gimp.

You hate forced compliance to people who are not in your political party. Hang an "R" by their name and then you salute.

I am pretty sure when I made my "papers, please" comment that I was told police need a reason, they cannot just demand IDs.
Read this, watch the 60 Minutes interview. ANYONE they encounter on the way to carry out their assignment, anyone they encounter in the vicinity of the mission, is fair game. Read the article, watch 60 Minutes. It is papers, please.
And at the bottom there is a mention of an old man forced out of his home wearing only shorts in -10 windchill. Turns out, after they took him in for questioning, he is American google that and let me know if that seems like fine police work

@arthur-dent Did he not have identification?

The heavy-handed sweeps will eventually stop. This one is retribution for the Somalis ripping us off. And the border will be fixed, at least until the next Mamdani, who is calling for ICE to be dissolved, wins office
The stats in the article I think are at least in part a result of awareness of this administration’s sweeps and rough tactics.
The story I saw was that there was a radio call that a US citizen was in the house that refused to be fingerprinted.
But Google it, there seems to be a good number of people with ID taken into custody and released.
As to Somali fraud, are we sure it isn't White American fraud

As to the daycare part was the fraud overstated If someone shows up to a daycare and knocks on the door, should the daycare let them in? Will they let them past the reception area? Are kids visible from the reception area, how secure is that? I have been to a daycare 3 grandkids go to. From the reception area, you cannot see the kids in the rooms. This is good, right? Gunman bursts in, you don't want a simple piece of plexiglass between the kids and the gunman.

Fraud happens, but that gotcha video is like all gotcha videos, designed to greatly exaggerate the problem. I suspect you believe that of Michael Moore, why not here? State investigators went in and found fully functioning daycares.
@arthur-dent We’re sure. 82 out of 92 Defendants are Somali. The majority have already pled guilty.
@arthur-dent At the end of the day woke governance is really no governance at all.

The Somali day care thing is actually a very small part of a huge fraud problem in Minnesota, but it's the part that gets nativist boners raging.
I didn't want to start a seperate thread, but I thought Sam Harris' take on ICE and the Renee Good killing was really interesting. Sam's a pretty common sense guy. I'd be interested in everyone's opinion on Sam's take here:
