@mcm666 That’s because Trump is too imprecise or perhaps too much of a marketer/ snake oil salesmen to say:
”I’m going to slow the rate of inflation and increase real wages”
”Prices are going to come way down!” rolls off the tongue better.
abandon workers in favor of the academic bubble and fringe groups. they're are already baked in. you never need to pander to them
Yes, I'm being a grammar nazi and an arse, but it sounds like you need to embrace that academic bubble a little more.
@carramrod exactly. and the left is too stupid to capitalize on it. they'll point to the unfair treatment a foreigner is getting at purdue. a situation that most of the population will reflexively dismiss as elitist bullshit and who cares about some fucking foreigner at a "fancy" school when they're trying to pay their unlicensed uninsured neighborhood sitter.
prices. medicaid. wages. jobs.
@squeakyclean arse maybe. you really think i believe it's they are are or maybe a typo?
@mcm666 it’s not much to capitalize on. It’s just another example of leftists feigning incredulity over Trump’s hyperbole.
It doesn’t work on even a minimally informed voter.
@receipt-keeper or dems are progressives ate up with stupid shit like socialism and trannie nonsense and immigrants and all the rest. stem shit. a foreigner at purdue. palestine. the masses don't give a fck. dems aren't very smart. they're led by a bartender without an ounce of experience in the world and the locus of dems is electing a socialist freak. it's insane to think they once had clinton/obama etc. dumbest mother fckers on the planet now lead the dem party. hell we see their vapid supporters posting on here daily. more on the old wc.
hey trump. quoting you about prices. why do they keep creeping up?!!!!!!!!! you said on day one you'd starting bringing them down. and these jobs numbers. my brother. my neighbor. they lost their job. and college kids are having trouble finding jobs. and these tariffs don't seem like they're bringing down the debt. just raising prices. faster than my wages! what's going on here. promises made promises not kept. no one asked for tariffs! WE WANT LOWER PRICES AND JOBS. WE DON'T GIVE A FCK IF EPSTEIN WAS YOUR BEST MAN WHERE'S MY JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT CHEAPER CHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's so easy. I would crush these people in a debate. our politicians suck
If the cost of living crisis is still in full swing, I'm not sure the voters care enough about the woke stuff for that to kill the Dems. Sure, they'd be smart to downplay it, anyway, but the pocketbook is going to trump pretty much anything else.
@mcm666 It just hit me as kind of ironic. That's all. Don't go all snowflake on me.
@goat it is always what matters most. and unclemark will balk and i don't mean to take a shot at him and/or i don't care if i do it is what always matters most. money. and public safety. so you can provide for your family and keep them safe. the rest is all first world problems
If Vance gets the nomination, the Democrats need to make sure that every ad they run ties Vance to every single thing Trump has done / not done. Hit them with:
Food prices still high? Trump said he'd bring them down (play the clip) -> Blame Vance.
Gas prices still high? Trump said he'd bring them down (play the clip) -> Blame Vance.
Inflation still outpacing wage increases? Trump said that we'd have 5% economic growth (play the clip) -> Blame Vance.
Government spending still out of control? Trump said he'd cut spending (show the pictures of Trump with Musk / DOGE and then show images of the 200 million WH expansion and the billion dollar bill for the Qatar AF1 retrofit) -> Blame Vance
War still ongoing in Ukraine? Trump said he'd end the war on day one (play the clip) -> Blame Vance.
Throw in some leftist red meat immigration / trans rights / school funding at the end, but stick to the economy and show how rural America is suffering.
Tie everything to Vance like Republicans tied every single decision that Joe made to Harris.
I give it 10% odds that they're smart enough to do that.
@squeakyclean yup. and hollywood and the media don't help. they obsess over the wrong shit bc they're out of the loop

If the Dems' card is prices, the Repubs should probably respond with crime. Two possibilities: crime goes down, and the Repubs can take credit for it; or, crime doesn't go down, but the Repubs can cast it as the result of Democratic obstruction on a local level. True or not, that's a tactic that has worked before.

10% seems generous, but I agree that's a winning playbook.
@carramrod immaterial. he represented that he'd bring them down. prices and jobs are what the lion's share of voters care about. that's why it was so incredibly inane for the left to abandon workers in favor of the academic bubble and fringe groups. they're are already baked in. you never need to pander to them
Exactly. It's not some negotiation where you can throw a bunch of shit out there knowing its something you'll give back to get what you really want.
Once you let the world know you ride a goofy ass bike and worry about red hats in the distance, it's too late to backtrack on it. The die is cast.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

Public safety might be number 1. The amount of people that live off a credit card that is never paid is astronomical. Being broke is a way of life…but they don’t know they are broke
@squeakyclean it was probably me who said AOC is the front runner, which I think she still is. Also, she will be difficult to beat if she is the nominee. She's a good politician, smart enough, and pretty.
