So they release all these other videos of boats getting blown up, but the one that could get them in trouble, that ones staying in house.
Seems all on the up and up here.
Does anyone really believe that? It’s a load of BS.https://twitter.com/overton_news/status/2000969190388162956?s=20

Not sure why the other thread was closed, but here's a new one and an update:

I ran a covert operation once. Was out walking the dog at 5:00 a.m. on Christmas morning. Then the NBA shot clock started ticking and I'm in my subdivision. I looked for cover and found an evergreen. Fast and discrete squat with the dog just staring at me. I was in panic mode and got home. Then I realized the most important thing. I left my DNA on the property. My parents were staying with us and my dad was up. I said "I have to go back out". He said "you were gone for 50 minutes, why do you need to go back out?" I said "I had an incident". My dad's response was typical dad "Jesus Christ you shit over someone's lawn on Christmas morning. Wouldn't Jesus be proud". I said "Dad, that didn't happen like that. I hid behind an evergreen and kind of snuck into it!". So yah, I did the walk of shame to and fro. Fun Christmas--the stress of the cloak and dagger emergency operation probably burned 2k in calories.

Blockades are literally an act of war. So warmonger, right?
For it or against it? Do you have any consistent principles?
Seizing sanctioned tankers makes sense. Notwithstanding the words used, I’m not so sure sanction enforcement should be considered a blockade in the traditional sense. Either way, put me down for a yes. Maduro isn’t recognized as the legitimate president by any country that matters. He has got to go. Nothing good can be accomplished by not pressuring him.

The devil is in the details on this one. How exactly are we implementing this? How do we know which oil tankers are traveling to sanctioned countries and which ones are going to legitimate countries? Are we stopping every oil tanker that enters / exits their waters and demanding to see their cargo / destination papers? Do we have some kind of intelligence that is telling us which are which?
Some transparency here would go a long way. I'm pretty sure you could give out some more info without compromising intelligence sources.
Our intel in Afghanistan was so good that the bad guys resorted to written messages on paper to hide their activities. That was twenty years ago. Intelligence capability is light years ahead of where we were then. I have no doubt we know everything there is to know about Venezuelan drugs and oil. And yes, we should keep it all secret.

I hope this isn't accurate. We voted for Trump to keep us out of wars not get us in them.

The sanctions are on tankers that transported Iranian oil. We know which tankers they were. If we stop any other tankers than we're doing something other than enforcing sanctions, we're conducting an actual blockade. A blockade is considered an act of war in the law.Seizing sanctioned tankers makes sense. The President absolutely should give us some idea of what he's actually trying to do WRT Venezuela. This is anything BUT the most transparent administration in history.
No we don't. We've been interdicting drugs the traditional way for years, including now. If we had perfect intelligence every single boat interdicted would be a drug boat, but they aren't. I don't remember the exact percentage but it's something between 10 and 20 percent that we stop do not have drugs on them. Our intel in Afghanistan was so good that the bad guys resorted to written messages on paper to hide their activities. Looks pretty certain that he's planning for a war against Venezuela. We don't have a strike group off the coast of Venezuela at the cost of 10s of millions per day just to blow up a few drug boats (each strike costs us more than the value of the cargo), it's there to conduct military strikes. My speculation (opinion) is that he's trying to squeeze Maduro to leave Venezuela, but if he doesn't, we'll be conducting strikes. All without an Authorization of the Use of Military Force against Venezuela.Seizing sanctioned tankers makes sense.
