@hhlurker no Dems would have amended pass through qualified income etc.  never vote for a Dem. For anything today.  They are mentally insane people

Their plan to fight inflation is to print more money and send out more stimulus checks.  Not kidding.

So we're getting money no matter who wins?

Trumps offering 5K... how much are the Dems dangling?

My vote can be bought.

If you renounce your citizenship & pose as an illegal it’s virtually limitless…

Where are all these illegals that are rolling in the money, because I haven't seen any around here, since it's limitless.

America used to have a "Help Wanted" sign out front. Now it might as well be a "Free Donuts" sign. That draws in two very different types of immigrants.

Thanks, you have changed my mind. I was never going to vote AOC, but now I feel I should. If there is no difference between her and Beshear I might as well vote for the one that will bring more enjoyment watch you guys go crazy

You know, the same reason your side voted Trump in the primary.

That’s funny. Couple days ago I thought about knee-jerking the same kind of post to @bar-down’s incessant rant just for kicks.

@hhlurker yes shocker that the guy who pays credit card debt for dead people wouldn’t understand the implications of Dems on small business LLC tax obligations 🤫

I think we're close enough now to start making some judgments.

1. If the Dems don't take the House, it will be a political failure of historic proportions.

2. The Senate is more difficult structurally, but I think the Dems have to be favored now. Still, we're talking like 55% favored, at best. No easy victory in the Senate.

I absolutely love all the self-deluded Republicans in this thread thinking this is about ideology or principle. This is entirely about the cost of living. Every election in every Western country since Covid has been about the cost of living. The GOP is going to get smoked because shit's expensive. It doesn't matter if you think it's genuinely their fault or not. Ideology and political theory have nothing to do with it.

The party in charge loses ground most midterms, so the chances of the GOP maintaining both the Senate and House were always low.  Trump's biggest issue was going to war in Iran.  He f#cked up the midterms when he made that decision.  With all of that said, I think the economy is actually doing better than all the doomers and dissenters are saying.  If you told me in January of 2025 that Trump was going to start a war in Iran and run gas up over 4 dollars and diesel to almost 7, I would have probably predicted the Democrats winning 230-40 seats in the House and 53-55 in the senate.  That still might happen and you're pretty much spot on if it does.  However, if the GOP hangs onto the Senate than I think my take on the economy is closer to what people are feeling. We will see how it shakes out.

@snarlcakes the economy is fine.  market gangbusters.  household income strong.  all the indicators are good.  costs are all that matter.  @goat nailed it in his post.  it's like deja vu.  bowl posting over and over again about the biden economy.  markers.  trends.  i said it over and over and over again.  no.  one.   cares.  it's costs.  that's all that matters.  and it honestly doesn't even matter if people CAN afford it.  they don't want to pay inflated prices regardless.

so trump was a dumb fuck and now he's got what is coming.  he was wrongheaded (i.e. stubborn determination as the word is so often misused on here) about tariffs and irrespective of the conditions was going to impose them no matter what.  dumb.  and then he piled on with a war in iran.  no one wanted any of that shit.  HE did.  what people wanted was undivided attention to bringing costs down. he diddn't listen.  now he can spend the next two years dealing with investigations into him and his family's interests

Costs have improved.  I don't give a f#ck if you don't want to acknowledge it, but that's the data.  Stop comparing me to Bowl's dumba#@.

To be clear, I said 55%, not 55 seats. No way the Dems win 55 seats. 55% means there is a better than 50/50 chance they end up 51-49, or maybe 52-48 if things really shake their way.
