@snarlcakes now you made me put on my tin foil hat as i prepare to crack open my first marg before the carano rousey fight.  i would not be surprised, which is to say that do not believe or disbelieve, that the next decade will be the most consequential in the history of the world.  that advances in ai will blah blah blah yes.  but that we will learn we are not alone.  that the way we have thought about space and time isn't right.  physics.  quantum physics.  string theory.  that what we always thougth were insurmountable distances in space are not.  that time and space are malleable.  not linear.  like a piece of paper.  only you can bend it to touch.  and that what we thought of as aliens may have always been here, in different dimensions.

i believe it is possible that we are at the starting block of things we never could have imagined.  if that's a good thing or bad for our kids i do not know.  my heart says bad.  but there's so much to come i could never posit good or bad.

okay how's that for a tin foil saturday night post as we wait for these two old cougs to go at it

and ps.  libs give a shit about the epstein files.  the same mask wearing blm lives matter grift get your booster shot libs that post incessantly about epstein and ignore that the files have been there through the entire biden admin.  people care about what i wrote about.  rogan's interview with lazar got 60 million plus views.  the most in the history of his podcast.  suck it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

”Tell the wife not to wait up”

you really should meet her. She’ll throw hands. Quickly. And well. Possessive is the polite term for it.

@big-ryan this is so absurd on it's face. First of all where are these funds? There's no magic slush fund sitting in the DOJ, presumably? Would Congress not have to appropriate such a huge sum for a settlement (which would never happen)?

@twenty Yes, it's absurd.  For many reasons.  Not just the appropriation issue, but something every law student learns the first day of class - - the case or controversy requirement.  The parties in this matter ARE NOT ADVERSE.  It's bogus, illegal, unconstitutional litigation.

If the settlement goes through (and Trump wants to quickly settle the case before the judge tosses it), the $1.7 billion would come from the US Treasury Department's "Judgment Fund," a permanently available pool of TAXPAYER MONEY typically used to pay court judgments and legal settlements against the U.S. government. (Plaintiffs who have been able to tap into the fund are typically tort claims litigants, government contractors, federal employees and whistleblowers, and other private citizens who have sued the government for constitutional or statutory violations). Trump's government would then establish the "Truth and Justice Commission."  Trump would appoint people to the commission who would supposedly decide who gets what.  Trump, of course, would be calling the shots and/or require the commission to run everything past him before people get paid.

Trump reportedly wants to compensate the J6 defendants from this fund. Think about that for a minute.  Not only have they all (including cop-beaters) been pardoned, Trump now wants to give them substantial monetary payments. That's one helluva message he's sending.  It's another giant "Fuck You" to law enforcement, and will further embolden his crazy supporters.

Paying the J6ers legitimizes the scheme to the MAGA faithful. The real aim is to shovel money to Trump cronies. MAGA might object to that if they (or their proxies) weren't getting paid themselves.

The whole thing stinks.  The lawsuit itself is unconstitutional.  There's no adversary.  It's corrupt and lends itself to more corruption.  It's not hard to imagine scenarios where Trump says to a crony, "I was originally gonna give you $25 million but I'll give you $50 mill provided you kick back $20 mill to me."  There will be no legitimate oversight of this fund and the disbursements so no one would know.   Trump can do whatever he wants, with impunity.

Trump's other job is to sow doubt - - - based on zero credible evidence - - on things he's unable to completely control, like elections.  He'll be working overtime on that for the next several months.

He's a stain (I'd say "shit stain" but that would be too disrespectful) on the Constitution and American democracy.

So, as expected, he took a voluntary dismissal of this bogus, unconstitutional case today and settled it for $1.8 billion. He and many others will now profit from litigation that wasn't valid to begin with.

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CASE OF CORRUPTION IN THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN PRESIDENCY.

People need to vote out the mo'f*ckers who have enabled, and continue to enable, this dirtbag.

This is ridiculous and should anger anyone who has ever claimed to be someone concerned with how tax dollars are spent. I know he's talked about any earnings he'd win from the suit going to charity. I'd hope someone does some in depth follow up on where this money ends up.
