@unclemark it would be if you were a serious poster or person for htat matter with an ounce of objectivity. anyone who in all seriousness watches rachel maddow is blind and clueless. you've overlooked the biggest fraud ever perpetuated on the american people with the concealment of biden's true healht condition and the anointment of dog shit moron harris thereby disenfranchising the voters. if one side were above board. respectable. and not total frauds themselves then your position would have merit. they're not. in character they are a uniparty. in policy they're materially different. so the latter for thinking people is what's germane. @hurryinghoosiers i haven't read whatever nonsense you've posted i only see your responses in my notifications but i trust this response will suffice for the both of you kindred spirits if not sate your trump thirst
people who see only party. only people. and can't look past their colors to what actually is going on are the people who will destroy this country. we are never getting better politicians. that's just reality. the profession itself dictates as much. narcissists who believe THEY know best how to dictate what we do. throw in social media fame celebrity of being same and it's over
You should try a mirror. You see only party and trump can do no wrong because of it. There is no way in hell you would support even half of the shit he has pulled if he was a dem (as you shouldn't). Party blinders is the only reason people put up with that blatant corruption
@co-hoosier how the left views taxes is amazing to me. they have a fundamentally polar view of government. i believe, just a guess, that you have lived through the best of times coh. my minion just turned 5. it's an amazing to thing ot compare someone like him to you. what you've seen. what he's unaware of. what he will see over the next 80 years. things we can't even imagine. quite literally. aliens to start with, or at least interdimensional beings.
This case (and proposed settlement) is fucking unbelievable. THERE IS NO ADVERSARY in the case.
The Department of Justice, now run by Trump’s former personal defense attorney, is poised to settle the President’s ten billion dollar lawsuit against his own IRS by creating a one point seven billion dollar taxpayer funded slush fund, controlled by a secret commission Trump appoints and removes at will, to pay his political allies and the January 6 defendants he pardoned, just two weeks before a federal judge in Miami was set to throw the case out as an unconstitutional fraud on the court.
"Trump is the plaintiff. Trump is also the President of the United States. Trump nominated the Attorney General. Trump signs the checks at the Treasury. Trump controls the IRS through the Treasury Secretary he appointed. Trump has issued an executive order forbidding government lawyers from taking legal positions that contradict his own. Trump publicly admits the decision to pay the settlement has to come across his desk. Where is the adversary in that picture? THERE IS NONE."
"The arrangement would be an unprecedented use of taxpayer dollars with little oversight. Under the terms of the potential settlement agreement, President Trump would have the authority to remove members of the commission running the fund without cause, and the commission would be under no obligation to disclose its procedures or decision-making process for awarding more than a billion dollars."
Ethical concerns stem "not only from Trump suing his own government but also having control of an entity that can freely hand out $1.7 billion to his allies. When asked about his legal claims last year, Trump acknowledged the lawsuit "sort of looks bad," but claimed he would donate any money he receives from the claims to charity." Lol.
This is corruption literally like nobody's ever seen before, at least not from a United States president. Trump's wrecking ball attack on democratic norms and our constitutional republic continues.
Anyone who possesses the ability to critically think should read these links or any other articles about the case and these recent developments. They should also read the section in the first link titled "What You Do Now."

@big-ryan it's absurd on countless levels and it's not worth bothering to read whatever you linked. the answer to anyone who has ever practiced is very simple. the matter should have been stayed until he's out of office.

It's very much worth reading, but I'm not surprised you have little interest.
@big-ryan zero interest. the answer is obvious. any matter trump is involved in personally should be stayed until he's out of office. conflicts/bias/influence etc are so patently obvious that any results he achieves in office are suspect. $1.7 billion irrespective of how the settlement is fashioned is patently flawed
You see only party and trump can do no wrong because of it.
Serious question? are you able to read? i have been outspoken about how awful trump has been this term save the border. so for you to write this i can only assume someone is reading to you and you're not reading everything. no one has been more critical of tariffs than i etc. don't mischaracterize posts to fit into your minimum wage shill job with the party. just stop posting. you offer nothing
Interestingly the word "corrupt" according to this poll is a word high on the list of Democrats used to describe Trump and one of least used by Republicans. So, if you want to stir up the hornet's nest with a thread, using corrupt will do it.
By the way, rather enjoyed the thread. Shame on me.
@big-ryan okay i skimmed it. it's indeed a mess. sitting in the southern district the judge has to make a ruling. she already stayed it and now trump can circumvent that disposition by way of settlemetn. what's a bitch is that if it were an action in teh tax court (i believe) any settlement/stipulation requires court approval, which is to say the judge can deny it. operating outside of that court and in the southern dist allows trump to circumvent that requiremetn. i get the settlement prevents him from taking personal possession of the proceeds but what difference. it's our money

This is true. You're indistinguishable between almost every other lefty on here now and they still don't love you. They really are sh#t heads. My heart aches for you, buddy.
@snarlcakes i have always called it like i see it. when the aliens make their selections ill be amongst the chosen ones
@big-ryan this is so absurd on it's face. First of all where are these funds? There's no magic slush fund sitting in the DOJ, presumably? Would Congress not have to appropriate such a huge sum for a settlement (which would never happen)?
