@aloha-hoosier New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is a prominent member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)

that's the largest city in america.

And? You and I don't vote there and have no say in NYC politics. That idiocy will never take hold across the US.

This is where you're naive and wrong.  If you import too many people too quickly, it will take hold across the country.

I will never vote for ANYONE who proposes abolishing police and prisons and taking my property, and neither would the overwhelming majority of Americans.

So.....a theoretical, if you will.

I don't know where you live but let's assume you live in Indy. Four years from now, let's say Andre Carson gets primaried by a DSA candidate. Spouting the usual DSA platform. I get it, you won't vote FOR them. Will you vote AGAINST them?

3rd party vote considered voting against them?

Really just opting out. I get it. But voting third party doesn't tip the scales as much as voting against. Only one of two parties is going to win after all.

I really want to just throw my hands up in the air and say fuck it.

@big-ryan here's the reality.  you are worried about a guy who we have been dealing with for six years.  he's a danger to no one. never has been. never will be. he's just a blowhard narcissist con man who is turning out to be a pretty lousy president.  that you carry on with your present danger nonsense while people who want to literally destroy the country are rising up and taking over the party comes across as extremely foolish.

Quit wasting your time with him.  I already challenged him to outline any real lasting, permanent damage from Trump compared to Dem policies & he had nothing.  Turned tail & disappeared from the thread, he’s just trolling…

@oneeyedundertaker I wish I could. I really do.  But I’m here to teach. To inform.  To help people better understand. I can’t quit on my hardest cases.  Not if we’re all in this thing together

.

My exchanges with you tend to be very brief, if at all, because you seldom add anything of value to the discussion.  You, and a few others, have a tendency to double-down on bullshit, and continuing the discussion is a colossal waste of my time.

But here's the deal.  I responded directly to your "challenge" last week.  You're lying through your teeth when you say I "turned tail and disappeared from the thread."  Why would you make something like that up?  To make yourself look tough?  Get a fucking life.

Here's part of what I wrote to you last week:

"Trump's constant bullshit drumbeat about election fraud in general (the Heritage Foundation's comprehensive database of fraud related to American elections proves that such fraud is miniscule, with no impact on outcomes) and his ongoing Lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him come at a real cost to American confidence in our elections. It’s an affront to our democracy and to all those who work to deliver free and fair elections. It’s also an ominous sign for where things may be heading this year.

"Additionally, consider the damage he (and Musk) have inflicted on the federal government.  Massive dismissals, with highly partisan loyalists (even at lower levels) as replacements,  and the hollowing out of specialized expertise in government agencies (they shitcanned many people they shouldn't have, and then couldn't locate a number of them when they realized they needed to hire them back) will be difficult to reverse, as a future administration would struggle to quickly rehire or replace qualified, nonpartisan staff.

"Also, the independence of the Justice Department has been honored by every US president since Nixon and because of Nixon - - until Trump.  He's installed his personal attorney as the AG.  In what may or may not have been a slip of the tongue during Senate hearings today, Blanche said he IS Trump's lawyer.  He is clearly there to do Trump's personal bidding as Trump continues on his retribution campaign.

"Further, Trump's appointments to federal courts including the US Supreme Court, have implications that will long outlast Trump's tenure.  Also, major statutory changes, such as congressionally sanctioned tax laws, are far more difficult to repeal without a willing and cooperative legislature.

"You think he (or anyone) can easily end this ill-advised war that he started?   Middle East wars have historically been quicksand.  They're exceedingly difficult to get out of.

"He's spending over a billion of TAXPAYER dollars for his new ballroom, the retrofitting of his new Qatari-gifted plane, his new helipad, the new front entrance to the White House, the Arc de Trump, and other vanity projects.  You think all of that can be easily undone?  Don't make me laugh."

Someone’s being dishonest alright…this isn’t the last post of the exchange is it?  You took your ball & went home, make whatever excuse you want, but someone not wanting to waste their time doesn’t make a dozen deranged posts about Trump in one afternoon like you did today.🙂
