This is 13 percent of the population responsible for half the violent crime problem. Here in the city we will have 95 percent of murders committed by blacks.
now you can say it’s not all of them and it’s a small portion and that is true. But that small portion has an outsized impact. From car jackings to shootings to ruining malls to public transportation. Perhaps a better qualifier is young blacks. But this IS. a black problem. That is a fact

You brought it up. Anyhoo, different groups of humans have different traits. Some are taller on average, some have better tans on average , and some have higher IQs on average. I think you libs would call that diversity.
Let's take Jews for example. They tend to be over represented in positions of power or success for lack of a better term. I'm not denying the disparity. Young black men are way overrepresented in homicide statistics. That's real and needs to be confronted. I'm with you 100% on that. And I've been on record here several times that I've never supported defunding law enforcement. I thought it was dumb and wrong-headed, even at the height of all the George Floyd stuff.
I'm not convinced that a severe racial disparity in crimes committed means race itself is the root cause. There's been a lot of research into why young black men are committing violent crimes at disproportionately high rates, but we still don't have a complete understanding of why or how all of the contributing factors interact. I don't think the evidence supports simply concluding that they're culturally predisposed to violence or that differences in standardized test scores explain it.

@snarlcakes we have and I’ve become critical of it for reasons I’ve belabored. It’s a bandaid and it appeals to people who like government and blah blah but I think we learned some things from Covid and I’d like to get rid of a lot of these pass through funded programs etc and just pay cash for a set amount of time. Wouldn’t cost any more. And look it might be a bust. But I want to see
It's a bust. When you control for socioeconomic factors whites, Asian, and Hispanics all commit fewer crimes on average. This conversation is stupid because the answer is so simple. Hire more cops and put more criminals in jail.

There are any number of contributing factors based on study after study. Guns, or easy access to them, certainly factors in. I'm not pretending to have the answers here. I've been asking that in this thread

This isn't rocket science. It's a cultural problem. You have 70%+ growing up in single-parent households with shitty parents. Glorification of violence and crime breeds violent criminals. Even among other poor, inner-city families, there are more likely to be multiple parents and less fixation on these negative things.
