@snarlcakes exactly these lunatic dems didn't want us condemning china.  what the actual fck.  and they the worst president in american history's handlers pardons the little creep fauci so we can't grill him.  most of what gov does just turns out shitty anyway.  pubs should do nothing but spend all of their time bringing in fauci and taking turns yelling at him.  day after day

It's ridiculous, but governments are self serving.  They're not going to investigate.  If they did they would probably have to admit they're responsible for killing millions, untold trillions of debt, and all the other negative impacts.

@snarlcakes what drives me nuts is posts like boogie's pretending it was a both sides thing.  it's typical dem bullshit.  they conceive of the worst policies imaginable and then pretend they didn't have happen.  hell aoc and harris and all the rest of the vapid morons are back again because of it. hickory will tell you they didn't support blm, they didn't open the borders, there weren't a ton of crossings.  i mean wtf.  how do you deal with people like this.

i'll tell you trump is shit.  the war is a major fuck up.  tariffs are a killer of stupidity.  trump is lying to us with them and they're a nightmare for small businesses and inflation.  even you finally now grasp how bad tariffs are on inflation

Good post, but a little long.  I have a strict read only one paragraph rule on here.

@snarlcakes

ahhh just one paragraph.  While some people joke about players falling down, soccer players show real bravery through constant physical risk, intense mental pressure, and high-stakes moments. They face hard tackles without heavy padding and take on massive emotional stress in front of billions of fans.  watch the board.  i took some scalps this morning and the responses will be coming.  i'll be mia at a lego convention with my minion who won't understand that that life size lego lambo isn't something we can buy and make at home.

@boogie stop it.  enough bullshit.  tolerance for dems lying and revisionist history from the morons you voted for pretending they didn't do what they did is about zero with the endless stupidity.  it's no different than hickory pretending they didn't support open borders and defund. it's not both were doing it.  it's that the left turned into a control thing and their latest virtue signal and extended way longer than red states cities and counties.  until they found a new fake virtue signal around "police abuse" bwahahaha with BLM garbage and decided it's okay if they pack like sardines for their fictional issue protests

, research shows that Democratic-leaning ("blue") areas generally maintained COVID-19 restrictions, business closures, and school shutdowns longer than Republican-leaning ("red") areas. Public health policies heavily correlated with political affiliation, with blue jurisdictions implementing more stringent and prolonged mitigation efforts. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Policy Differences
  • Stay-at-Home Orders: Democratic governors and local officials issued initial lockdown and stay-at-home mandates faster and kept targeted capacity limits or mandates in place for more extended periods. [1]
  • School Openings: Studies analyzing local governance noted that Republican-led states and conservative areas reopened in-person schooling significantly earlier than heavily Democratic areas, which often tied school reopenings to lower community transmission thresholds or stricter union negotiations. [1]
  • Reopening Pace: Blue state and county leadership typically phased the return of commercial and social life much more gradually than red jurisdictions, which rolled back capacity caps and mandates much earlier in the pandemic timeline. [1, 2, 3]

So what my kids went through doesn't matter because (checks notes) dems were worse.

Cool.

I do have a serious question for all the board "experts." I really don't know the answer, and I do apologize if this was already covered.

Back in March of 2020, what would have happened if everyone had masked correctly, complied with social distancing recommendations, then gotten the Warp Speed vax when it came out?  Let's assume "everyone" means as close to 100% as possible, and let's leave out claims that the vax would have killed as many people as it saved.

I guess it depends on how much food and meds you had stashed. People still had to get out. I’m sure if we all could have stayed home until the vaccine was available then there is no doubt lives would have been saved. I’m guessing you have a garden and livestock but a lot of people are reliant on the grocery store

Groceries were extra expensive because my wife had them all delivered the first year. At the beginning she wiped everything down too even though I said the chances of getting COVID from the outside of a cereal box was approximately ZERO! 😉 Once again, peace of mind is important. My wife was a bit of a germaphobe before, and COVID amplified it by about 10. I'm the opposite of a germaphobe. I mean doesn't everyone wash their hands before taking a piss because they don't want to get their junk dirty? Seriously, I do think a lot of the allergies and occasional sicknesses our daughter has are because my wife would constantly use hand sanitizer with her, wash her a couple times a day and isolated her when other kids were sick. All exactly the opposite of when I grew up and I rarely get sick and have no allergies.

So, we've found another Amendment the MAGAs don't like. I guess we still have the 2nd.

Dumb.

Are you saying that it was impossible to go the grocery store/cvs wearing a mask correctly while maintaining social distance?  I seem to remember doing just that, and I knew people who ordered online for curbside delivery. Some places even delivered to, get this, your home.

No stashing necessary.

I posted a longer response but the deleted because it was too much rambling. My question would be what was a safe distance? I’m including workers as well as patrons

Hey, I wasn't trying to start a debate, or whatever this is.  I asked a question because I didn't know what would have happened.  You came back with a bullshit scenario that had nothing to do with that question...something about being a hermit with a garden and livestock.  Then you tried to answer my question with a question.

It's okay to not respond and just admit you don't know.
