Here is what I was able to figure out as a board “expert”.

Two things were important with Covid.  Viral transmission and viral replication. Both are important.  One would seldom pick up enough of a viral dose from others to make us sick.  We became sick after a few days as the virus  replicated within us.  We were fed a plethora of information and restrictions to minimize transmission.   When it came to replication . . . Crickets.  Replication was significantly minimized by healthy immune systems.  All the authorities, from Fauci on down, gave us zip about building and maintaining a healthy immune system.

During 2020 I posted often here how important immunity was and government seldom mentioned it.

For some reason, a large faction on the right has decided Fauci represents some sort of nebulous evil.

What did Fauci represent ?  For reasons that are not altogether clear, the public, led by the media and pundits, saw Fauci as the guru on all things Covid. As we now know, that status was neither earned nor deserved. That is why I said he was a very successful bureaucrat.

"Dr. Science" just pled the 5th Amendment clause to avoid self-incrimination 111 times.

SCIENCE just pled the 5th...

@boogie comparative. Most those decisions are made at the county level. It was 22 and kids were in masks at school. Fortunately. Our senator Eric Schmitt was the AG and sued the districts. Our county exec is a fauci. I have little doubt he’d still have kids in masks.  The election is Tuesday and I still see the purple haired in masks on their way to the library to vote for Cori bush.

you can’t fix Dems at this point. They’re cooked mentally

Brother, I live in one of the most red counties in Indiana, so it wasn't just dems.

My youngest had to miss a week and a half of school when my middle caught a fever.  We weren't going to pay for her to get tested when she was perfectly fine.  That wasn't a dem policy.  My middle kid, who had the fever, went back in six days with a negative test.   Make that make sense.

My definition of "virtue signaling" is to express a moral view to sound good without taking real action to fix the problem.

Seems to me Fauci offered all kinds of solutions to solve problems associated with Covid.

The question to be debated, in my view, is whether the solutions offered by Fauci helped or hindered.

Finally, why not have a discussion about what worked and didn't work as we will undoubtedly face another epidemic?

'Solve problems associated with Covid '!

The honest accountability has been dodged and turned into a joke ...Fauxi pled The 5th 111 times.

Mortality rates, inexplicable sudden death incidents among vax'd high level athletes, turbo cancers, cardiovascular disease, immune system damages...

..and all of it suppressed and hidden from scrutiny, while at the same time providers were collecting big bonus checks for peddling the experimental vaccines.

Start there and work backwards.

Most likely the made up...cough.....cough....I mean super scientific guidelines changed.  The school system I was at would switch them when they found out how stupid the ones they had in place were.  They started out if anyone was within 6 feet of a student in class with Covid they were sent home in the beginning, which would lead to dozens of students being sent home.  It of course pissed off parents.  They quickly implemented a mask policy and changed the rule to you were all good if you had a mask.  It was all bullsh#t.

Also, government schools listened to local government officials who listened CDC and other  health agencies when it came to guidelines.  The longer the pandemic went on and the more pissed off people got is when they started to loosen guidelines.  Red states on average moved quicker than Blue states.  Murt is correct and Democrats suck.

So, we've found another Amendment the MAGAs don't like. I guess we still have the 2nd.

The first step is find outing if it was a lab leak and who was funding it.  Right?  Because if it was a lab leak we wouldn't want it to happen again.  The fact Democrats (as well as some Republicans) and Fauci don't want to touch it gives you the answer😉 This is all theatre to pretend they did something.

@boogie stop it.  enough bullshit.  tolerance for dems lying and revisionist history from the morons you voted for pretending they didn't do what they did is about zero with the endless stupidity.  it's no different than hickory pretending they didn't support open borders and defund. it's not both were doing it.  it's that the left turned into a control thing and their latest virtue signal and extended way longer than red states cities and counties.  until they found a new fake virtue signal around "police abuse" bwahahaha with BLM garbage and decided it's okay if they pack like sardines for their fictional issue protests

, research shows that Democratic-leaning ("blue") areas generally maintained COVID-19 restrictions, business closures, and school shutdowns longer than Republican-leaning ("red") areas. Public health policies heavily correlated with political affiliation, with blue jurisdictions implementing more stringent and prolonged mitigation efforts. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Policy Differences
  • Stay-at-Home Orders: Democratic governors and local officials issued initial lockdown and stay-at-home mandates faster and kept targeted capacity limits or mandates in place for more extended periods. [1]
  • School Openings: Studies analyzing local governance noted that Republican-led states and conservative areas reopened in-person schooling significantly earlier than heavily Democratic areas, which often tied school reopenings to lower community transmission thresholds or stricter union negotiations. [1]
  • Reopening Pace: Blue state and county leadership typically phased the return of commercial and social life much more gradually than red jurisdictions, which rolled back capacity caps and mandates much earlier in the pandemic timeline. [1, 2, 3]

Nearly 100 percent of college and professional athletes were vaccinated and over 98 percent of military personnel and almost as many DoD civilians were vaccinated. About a thousand where I worked as a civilian. Me and my family and many, many friends. Millions of people. You can’t list any that died due to the vaccine, not even the athletes as you baselessly claimed in your post. Give it a go. There should be 10s of thousands if anti-vaxxer MAGA beliefs were/are correct so it should be easy, right? They aren’t correct, and as usual most of those beliefs were deliberate Russian and Chinese misinformation. You’re a very easily duped person.

That is the correct take.

For some reason, a large faction on the right has decided Fauci represents some sort of nebulous evil. They want him hurt, jailed, dead, whatever, and they've never been able to adequately explain why. It's a purely emotional response.

A lot of it is emotional.

I’m guessing some of it has to do with the screaming banshees who accused others of killing grandmothers and vulnerable people because they didn’t get vaxxed or wear a mask. There was a lot of over the top rhetoric and politicization by the Left, too, and Fauci became their patron saint.

We had a lot of loudmouth Karens in my area calling the cops on people getting together outside. They scared our school board into going full remote for the vast majority of the fall 20-21 school year and part of 21-22. It was ridiculous given the known data. That shit caused a lot of damage in kids—from academic problems to socialization to sky rocketed mental health issues. Sad times and I personally witnessed the effects.
