@twenty yup.  City mayor and co exec.  Crazy woke.  Long after it was over we were doing remote learning. Had Schmitt not started suing the co and districts kids would still be in masks at school today. And we might just be sending cori bush back to dc.  Woot woot

Of course, he also admitted to lying re masking, was squirrely about GOF research, got shown to be a narcissist, and coordinated an attempt to shut down and discredit dissenting views.

Kinda sounds like he was following Trump’s playbook.

@aloha-hoosier  these woke democrats were nothing short of disgusting.  virtue signaling.  we had masks on at kids' schools longgggggggggggg after any shit was going on.  to virtue signal.  be woke.  nothing more.  finally the AG said enough of this bs and started suing all the school districts.  eric schmitt.  won him a us senate spot.  we're all grateful to him.  i can't ever see myself voting for a dem again.  local.  state.  or federal.

Apr 4, 2020 — All St. Louis County parks are closing today over COVID 19 concerns.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Several youth sports organizations are pushing back against St. Louis County’s shutdown of youth sports because of the spread of coronavirus.

Officials from several youth sports leagues have formed the St. Louis Sports COVID-19 Coalition. They have organized to stop what they call the “fear and fiction” being spread by St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page.

Last week, Dr. Page shut down all competitive youth sports, citing them as a primary source of the recent spread and increase of COVID-19 in the county.

Executives of several youth associations, representing hundreds of teams and thousands of athletes, say their coronavirus cases are in the single digits in each of their leagues and that athletes or families have followed quarantine restrictions. The officials say since April, they have been following strict CDC guidelines on their fields and courts with temperature checks, mask wearing, deep cleaning, and more.

This is dated roughly 3 weeks after the shutdown, when much was still unknown.  Were there overreactions that went on for too long, sure.  But suing 3 weeks into it when we saw how much death was already happening in Europe?  Please.

The golf courses were not closed. We played a lot of golf because it was one of the things we could do without restrictions - except frickin' masks in the clubhouse, which most of us ignored after the first couple weeks when going in just to pay before the round. Ball parks were restricted. Several restaurants didn't last through COVID. That time did suck, but it really did nothing as far as curtailing personal outdoor activities like golf, driving ranges, jogging, etc. At least not in Ohio.

I remember outdoor stuff being closed at some point, including the University golf course here. They took the hoops off all the outdoor basketball courts here too. My running group typically does one track workout a week and they locked the track too. We run at 5:30am and discovered a spot where the fence wasn’t connected to the posts so we were able to sneak in and do the track workout without anyone knowing.

That didn’t last long - I think most outdoor stuff was back to normal within a month or two.

@bar-down I didn't live in St Louis. I lived in Ohio and my favorite outdoor activity is golf and I played - a lot. At some point in 2020, I stopped jogging outside because my knees couldn't take it any longer, but I could have run outside whenever I wanted. Many people did - probably more than pre-COVID because people got stir crazy. I had a treadmill and I'd stay on that for an hour or two at a time. I had a large flat panel TV directly in front of it and I'd watch shows and movies that my wife didn't like (history, war, horror, etc.). Watched a ton of shows and movies while also getting a workout (walking and running intervals). I enjoyed that part of COVID actually, but overall, that time in our history just sucked. As a country, we added more restrictions than we should have, but we're not the only country that did. I hate masks as much as anyone, so I only wore them when it was absolutely required. It never bothered me when others wanted to wear them. Still doesn't. Why would I care if it makes them feel better in public? Besides, I lived in Japan where it was common for people to wear masks if they were sick. They're very polite people.

State and national parks were overflowing with people because outside activity was open for business.

@gros-louis lmao off look in the thread. Parks were closed here.  Schools were closed. Leagues were closed.  Sell your bs somewhere else.  We weren’t spending months at Yosemite. Kids wanted to go to school and play a sport

@gros-louis try suing in 2022. Not three weeks after.  Post when you know something.  Your woke garbage impacted kids.

What dumb ass thread. lmao ..

I have a question for you. It's a test.

If an animal be it a rodent, marsupial or cat, eats organic material which passes through its digestive system and exits through its anus, is it a culinary delicacy or is it shit? And if a human ingests the material that passes through the digestive system, is that person a shit eater?

If your answer is the former to the first question, I had corn on the cob yesterday and a few peanuts as a snack.... do you want it?

There was no ban on outside activities.

oh yes there was!!! closed down parks.   soccer leagues.  football leagues.  basically put schutt out of business.  it was a total and complete lockdown

which were led by the states...who obviously understood the dangers of a pandemic...unlike the clowns that acted like masks and social distancing were pointless because they lacked brain cells.

oh no, my mask is killing me...i can't breathe or the ones that wore a mask on their chin because they were too dumb to find their mouth.  Probably rode on the short bus.

btw, how long will you snowflakes complain about having to take precautions in order to save lives during a pandemic?

For as long as Trump needs you to create a distraction from his pedophilia or for longer?

@hurryinghoosiers at the behest of fauci and the rest of the woke morons.  the leftist radical virtue signaling blinkards didn't follow any science.  it was no different than pretending their was a problem with police abuse that gave rise to blm bullshit.  the impact of covid measures was profound on kids

  • Academic Loss: Students experienced major slowdowns in reading and math skills, falling significantly behind grade-level expectations. [1, 2]
  • Inequality Gaps: Vulnerable, low-income, and minority students suffered the steepest declines due to unequal access to reliable internet and quiet study spaces. [1]
  • Mental Health Decline: Isolation from peers and teachers led to widespread increases in anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. [1]
  • Loss of Support Services: Schools stopped providing crucial non-academic resources like regular meals, speech therapy, and physical health monitoring. [1]

@hurryinghoosiers no you gobbled up that info like the useful idiot you are.  fools continued to push that stuff.  we knew who was at risk.  who was vulnerable.  who needed to be protected and what wasn't risky.  yet the lunatic left, you, continued to push garbage protocols to bleat, to assert control, to virtue signal.  no different than blm.  same illusory bullshit imposed on the public

Anthony Fauci.

Thats not a compliment.

Its a condemnation of him and our inept and incompetent administrative function of government.

Im talking about the swamp.

Like The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Fauci rose from the muck of the federal bureaucracy. Anthony Fauci was never elected, never treated patients, is not a health policy expert, and is not even an epidemiologist.  Why would we give a shit about what he said?  Well, he was the top creature in the public health establishment of the U.S. government swamp.  He grabbed the reigns of power the moment Covid became an issue and not only never let go but tightened his grip.  Fauci snowed under those who were in authority and who could contradict him. But he didn’t do it alone.  The media quashed every single health professional who contradicted the Fauci view and dismissed them as quacks.  “Disinformation” became the buzzword of the time.  California even passed a law prohibiting medical professionals from providing disinformation.  For his part, Fauci used a system of public health research and grants to build a support base.  The Swamp quickly turned Covid into a political mission as many saw it as a way to make Trump look bad and get rid of him.

The government response to Covid was an abject failure. Kids needlessly missed school. Family gatherings were cancelled.  Masks were everywhere.  No outside activities. No preventative health care. And more.  All because of the swamp ( deep state) and a single individual who could take advantage like nobody ever had before.

The important question facing us is not what to do about the next pandemic, but what to do about the public health establishment swamp.

Create a 'Hunger Games' series, Sunday nights at 9:00..The Swamp dwellers would be 'selected,' and turned loose in a 20-mile long section of the Louisiana bayou...they would have to hunt each other down before they starved to death
