In answer to the thread title, I'll throw out J. Edgar Hoover.

lockdowns were totally understandable.

No they weren’t.  Many smart people knew outside in open air was very, very, low risk, healthy, and helped immune systems.

I specifically remember walking through Denver Central Park in March 2020, and met an MD friend.  We talked about 30 minutes about viral loading and disease transmission.  Best 30 minutes I spent during COVID.  I learned how stupid everything we were being told was. From 6 foot spacing to masks, to staying indoors.  All dumb and ineffective.

@goat

Yeah.  The media made Trump a laughing stock and made Fauci a little god.  The public mostly didn’t know their ass from first base.

Trump made himself a laughingstock and still does. Many people are stupid, but you seem to think they're more stupid than I do.

@bradstevens the lockdowns were totally understandable. For a while. Then most of the precautions became virtue signaling Dem bs.  Ranger and I daily were posting the risk data to certain groups and how ridiculous the Dem bs was

Initially, no one knew what the hell was getting ready to happen. We just knew it was on the way. I had a piece of paper I had to keep in the truck to identify myself as an essential employee. Some initial precaution was warranted…but we went overboard. Hospitals not allowing adult children to visit their parents. Making basketball players wear masks while sitting on the bench but not while playing. There were just so many idiotic things that continued way too long. NYC made anyone 12 or older present a vaccine card in order to eat at a restaurant…but they don’t require an ID to vote

@spartans9312

The experts knew or should have known this was a virus and spread as an aerosol.  Yet we were told to wipe down groceries and boxed deliveries.  Lots of stupid stuff foisted on an unknowing public.

There was no ban on outside activities.

I just opened this thread and there are 5 more pages, but this claim is BS.

@hooky You didn’t read the rest. There was no ban on the outside activities I engaged in where I lived.

Actually, the original BS claim in the thread was, "No outside activities."
