Such a bullshit headline.
I’m willing to bet some money on the legacy media winning this case easily!
This is like the Krugman prediction that the internet was just a fad.
Beach restoration is becoming a huge and growing yearly expense for Florida towns with public beaches. You can keep up with the more frequent intense storms and higher tides washing away tons and tons of sand if you spend more money. More taxpayer money.
I'm not saying it wasn't silly to say there would be no more beaches. But there are real problems with beach erosion, problems that have accelerated dramatically in magnitude over the past 20 years, when I have lived near Atlantic beaches.

Pinellas County (St.Pete/Clearwater) approved a $125.7M budget to “nourish” the beaches in 2025 after the hurricanes hit. Annual budget is usually around $10M.

of course it’s not just for beach goers. Restoration is also very much about habitats for sea turtles, microorganisms, nearshore creatures, even manatees.
https://pinellas.gov/manatees/
There's a 9 mile stretch of beach near me that had 30,000 sea turtle nests last year. Loggerheads, Greens, and Leatherbacks. Volunteers count the new tracks every morning, where turtles laid their eggs. So the good news is that the number of nests recorded are trending up. But the bad news is a higher percentage of these nests get washed out to sea before they hatch.
