@boogie There are no cuts.  Only slowing of the rate of growth

How do you slow growth without making cuts?

Im also unable to find where this bill targets rural hospitals.  Many opposing Democrats keep bringing up this issue, but without any supporting evidence or even cogent arguments.

It doesn't "target" rural hospitals, but will strongly effect them due to Medicaid being a larger proportion of their income.

I don’t understand the logic of treating deadbeats and illegals in rural hospitals being a good thing.

Emergency rooms are required by federal law (from the Reagan era) to treat all comers. If they are covered by Medicaid, the hospital gets paid. If they aren't, they have to eat it.

Uncompensated mandatory emergency care has a different funding source.

Emergencies are one thing….going to the ER every time you have a cold is another. There are way more of the latter in the last decade

That's what the Medicaid'ers do.  It's why ER visits went way up in MA after Romneycare was passed.

I won't claim that doesn't happen, but I think your claims are way overblown. I'm open to being corrected.

Go sit in an ER waiting room. I fill those prescriptions every day.

@boogie think about what you just wrote. It’s not a cut if it’s still growing. And it’s still growing.

This is the best response to the criticisms of the BBB. No clue who is right:

I have little doubt the CBO is underestimating revenues with respect to the BBB. With tariffs, tax on remittances and growth beating estimates there is a fair chance of bringing the deficit to 3% of GDP in Trump’s term, which the pointy heads say is the target.

Also. Hasset says keep in mind letting the tax cuts expire is likely recessionary and you say it’s the “best response”. Googlymoogly told you that exact same thing back in the days of the water cooler and you dismissed it as arm chair prognostication.

@carramrod Well, it is armchair prognostication.

I miss GooglyMoogly. Wonder what he's up to now.
