my counter would be who is the judge? Who creates this "test"? How do you calm a large group of people who suddenly lose a right because some elitist created a test to exercise that right. We have scores of people serving in public office who have no background, experience, or intelligence to be there. We have charlatans and snake oil salesmen. We have operatives who know exactly how to manipulate the system. I short, we have a body of elected officials of piss- poor quality. I think there is at least a temporal relationship between low quality electeds and increased voting. We need to hold voters to higher standards than our politicians like to advocate for.
@bar-down There are millions of Blacks that work, pay taxes, don't cause problems. Yet (and especially Undertaker) post as if every Black is rioting, murdering, etc. Whites commit more crime overall than Blacks, even if many crimes show that a higher percentage of the Black population commits the crime. I see a lot of people on message boards posting, "usual suspects." What does that mean? According to this chart, 11,500 Whites were arrested for rape and 4400 Blacks. So which would be a "usual suspect." From 2019, but the one that came up in a very quick search.
I am sure we have too many regs. Here's the thing, I don't want the guy who owns a company that creates hazardous waste deciding how it should be disposed of. Here in Bloomington we had that problem with Westinghouse and PCBs. Dump the stuff anywhere and everywhere to save money didn't work out well for the community.
So when these buisinessmen say they are over regulated, consider for some they would love to dump chemicals in your yard if it saved them 33 cents.
A great example is the businessman that built the sub to go to the Titanic. He took every shortcut known because he knew he knew more than the experts. He did this even though he was likely to be on it if it failed, as he was. You seriously don't think these people exist everywhere in business? I bet Musk is one, and Trump is definitely one.

@oneeyedundertaker it's getting ugly though. so at night the brothers come out and break into cars. they used to just stay in the city but now they are driving out into the burbs to do it. far burbs. oakville. way out. and people are goign to start losing their shit. last night where i sometimes play pick up they were breaking into cars in the middle of the night, per usual, you're told to just leave the doors unlocked and nothing in the car, and some hoosier came out and saw two rummaging through his car and just started shooting at them. killed one injured the other. guy interviewed. southsider. said everyone in their neighborhood is armed and will just continue to shoot at them. people are exhausted. the fatigue is real. it's just shootings every single day.
