Appearance is tough since you can't control what body/face you get. But you could read it as over emphasis on managing your appearance/vanity which would obviously not be within the Christian ethos. The sorority version of this is more the latter, I think, although when I was at IU it was pretty apparent that sororities clearly discriminated against overweight/heavy set girls.

And Nupes (Kappa Alpha Psi) was/is the black fraternity started at IU. Their house was behind ours, up through the woods, until IU (ironically) bought their house, and the accompanying historical marker, and made it the IU Police HQ's.
They're currently (wrongfully) on suspension for hazing.
IU also has Alpha Phi Alpha, and Omega Psi Phi, and one other one I can't remember.

My middle girl has had boys break up with her, according to her, because she will only kiss. She says she wants to wait for her husband, at which point, I told my wife maybe she'll start liking girls.
My oldest was the complete opposite. She was the kid that parents thought was a bad influence (she also graduated high school in 3 years, so if someone can correlate those two, I'd be all ears. Now that she's a mom, she's definitely slowed down.
My youngest might become a nun when it's all said and done. The kid started crying because I was going to tell my wife that she jaywalked when we were walking around town. Full blown tears, saying she can't get in trouble because she's a good girl and doesn't break any laws. I need to get her to hang out with her older sister to lossen her up a little bit.
