@mcm666 my parents still can’t get into they’re 3rd floor Turtle Beach condo.  I think a lot of people will eventually get their insurance checks and sell Pennie’s on the dollar.

So I should wait a while longer for depressed prices?

@stollcpa i think you really just have to do your due diligence.   find out the condition of the building.  what mandatory special assessments have already been done and are projected in the future.  vet out all the insurance coverage issues and prices.  there's loads of opportunities but you have to be really careful

How's your dad doing? Did he leave his old firm?

@bradstevens nah, he's still working.  He's had a couple falls, but nothing serious.  Hard to tell this old man what to do with his life.  He needs to give up driving though and get a driver to and from work or an Uber.  He can definetely afford it with the amount of work he still does.  He still goes into the office 7 days a week.

@jdb he's doing it because he wants to.  doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy other stuff.  and i firmly believe continuing that routine, keeping that brain going, going to work, lifting as heavy weights as you can handle, and sprinting along with luck is the key to longevity

Remind me again what the narrow nichey wine specialty is that he does.

It's fallen off a cliff. And that's not a bad thing. I've actually stopped drinking much except for social work events and occasionally an outing with the parents.

I feel much better and don't need the extra calories. Plus, all of the nights I blacked out in Bloomington, Chicago, Rio, Mykonos, Tel Aviv, Sao Paolo, NY, DC, etc., probably set my liver up for a short enough lifespan as it is

@unclemark For the past 20 or so years he’s been representing wineries and wine drinkers to challenge the wine shipping laws.

One of his cases went to the Supreme Court where they ruled in favor of his clients.  The court agreed states cannot prohibit interstate shipping direct to consumers by a business licensed to sell wine solely to protect instate licensed businesses (the distributors).

He has no problem getting a private tour at any winery in the United States.
