That's not uncommon, actually.
My cousins husband was a lineman that went on every storm emergency he could (stupid, stupid money). He's been shot at in more then a couple states (Louisiana was the worst he said).

@bar-down for sure. If I was in need like that, I'd be guarding them with my life, offering to be their gopher for whatever they need to get the job done faster.
