Here's a pic of the bridge from a spring float a couple of years ago.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

That’s unbelievable. As a river rat, the floods of 1913 and 1937 were always talked about by the previous generations. If I remember correctly the cfs rate was out of bounds

The gauges were crazy to watch.
A buddy drove up towards Strawtown Thursday and had to turn back. He said you could see the power house on the dam but not the dam itself. Here's the dam.
I would guess the office/house at River Bend campground is gone.

I live a mile and a half west of the river off near 116th. I had water in my backyard. Shit was crazy. Last time that happened 2013 which is like #3 all time for flood levels. Neighbor four houses down had water in their crawlspace. That was the peak.
Here's a drone shot of the new lake forming off hazel dell and 106th.
@larsiu That explains the bridge failure, I guess. I didn't realize it was flowing backwards, but that makes total sense.
Was Cool Creek running backwards and flooding your neighborhood?

My ex's mom is in Portage, and last I heard from my son, she had no power, basement flooded, and she was told she had to vacate but refused. While kinda sad, it's hard not to smile a little too.

Nah. It was going the right direction. Did get into backyards there too but that was about it. The Flowing Well Park was submerged.@larsiu That explains the bridge failure, I guess. I didn't realize it was flowing backwards, but that makes total sense.
