@twenty The states that don’t require ID do you know what you have to show to vote?
Schumer was talking about dreamers. Trump offered a path to citizenship for dreamers in his first term in exchange for Democrat agreement on border security and wall funding. Pelosi said NO! because she didn’t want to give Trump a victory.
You should probably explain that to Jet. He thought the Schumer clip was from yesterday, not 4 years ago.
.
@carramrod most people (including the OP) don't have a clue what the SAVE act is.
Will make it very difficult to register to vote, name change after marriage, even changing your registration address after a move, going to require you going back in person with a BC or Passport.
I think most of the population will find it very annoying, if ever implemented..... One highly bipartisan agreement is opposition to going to the BMV.... Not there it ever will pass. Trump has already called for it to be pulled from the govt funding bill.
You don’t have a clue what I do or don’t know, but carry on…🙄
I always assume you don't know as the baseline 😉

Like trump torpedoing the border bill because he didn't want to give Biden a victory.

What is a “victory”?
The simple act of signing a bill into law? What if the bill says all Hickory’s must be given a wedgie every day?
To me an effective border/ immigration bill reduces illegal border crossings, fixes our amnesty system so that it isn’t abused, enhances our ability to apprehend undocumented in the interior of the country, etc.
The bill you speak of did little to none of that. How is it a victory for me the voter/ taxpayer?
@hurryinghoosiers The border bill was a joke. It codified absurd numbers. Get a clue stupid
@sharinincarmel absolutely no idea. I'm sure every state is somewhat different

You can’t make this up - more ID required to shovel snow than vote! Jim Crow 2.0!!!🤣🤣🤣
The SAVE act is a PITA for someone like me.
I am quickly approaching my 60's, I was born in an era before most records were kept on any database...they were hard copy. My grandparents became my legal guardians @ my birth, and subsequently adopted me a few years later and I took their last name. Along the way all of my school records, shot records, medical history, SS card, driver's license, marriage certificate, my children's birth certificates, tax and employment records were under that last name. The only record that doesn't have my adoptive last name on it is of course the only one that is drop dead required the SAVE Act...my birth certificate (since I've never had a passport).
I already went through this shit with Real ID and decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Both my birth parents and adoptive parents have been dead for 2-3 decades now. I do not have my adoption paperwork and without those adoption papers, they won't give it to me. So when faced with the task of jumping through all those hoops with the Indiana Department of Health and Vital Records Division I put it on the back burner as I wasn't planning on flying nor did I reckon I would need to enter certain federal buildings any time soon. As much as it pisses me off, I could live with that.
But after voting for 40 plus years and providing legal ID for what, the past 2 decades now, with my legal name on it I will no longer be eligible to vote under the SAVE Act since my legal name doesn't match my birth certificate? I could make all the baby/bathwater, cut noses/spite faces or see forest/but for trees arguments, but it will fall on deaf ears.
I am so ready to head to the mountain, go to ground and leave the rest of this shithole to the partisan fuckwits on both sides.
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

@bradstevens The only voting on the mountain is for who has to be the little spoon to murt.

I showed up to this to get away. She was already there, showing me documents that she now owns it. FML
