From an ideological standpoint, the federal government never should have involved itself in providing healthcare in the first place, but we were and are well past that point prior to the ACA. We already provide(d) healthcare/insurance to the elderly (Medicare), the poor and disabled (Medicaid), active and discharged military (Tricare/VA), active and former federal employees and politicians (FEHB, PSHB) etc etc.
And lest we forget, we had the ACA forced upon us for nearly 5 years on a federal level with the individual mandate. You could not choose to self insure without paying a penalty. That went away in 2019 but even now some states adopt and enforce their own individual mandate. That said and much like the other examples above the ACA is a Pandora's Box situation, too many rely on it. Clawing it back without having something that provides at least the similar coverages/provisions in place is an undue burden on up to 25 million people.
And while the those above examples certainly are fraught with their own inadequacies, high costs and inefficiencies, when contrasted with the ACA, which has 312 participating insurance providers across the 50 states they look like beacons of efficiency.

I've seen the ETFs etc. I'll trust you on Coinbase b/c this is the internet.@larsiu if you have an advisor have them buy one of the ETFs and talk about what percentage of your portfolio is reasonable (they'll probably say 1-5%). It's also best for tax purposes. If you want to buy it yourself, Coinbase is my first choice.
