@snarlcakes state legislatures could remedy the pre-existing issue with a three sentence statute
We decided national defense would exist in a command economy. Obvious reasons right? Are you saying national health cannot exist in the same economy? Why?@larsiu you're essentially arguing that command economies are better than free markets. They aren't. The only argument for single payer is we're nice people and want to provide healthcare for everyone.
@mcm666 not sure how that would help with costs overall. My first thought is the lower costs would be spread over all 50 states essentially and they'd take all the political heat. Maybe sign me up for the suicide mission? I don't know enough to give you a good answer.
@hurryinghoosiers no they voted against everything you support. When I wrote Dems are stupid. I meant you
You seem to have memory issues. Most republicans, when they had a spine, were saying trump was unfit for office...until he won the primary (for his first term). Even JD compared Trump to hitler.
But yea, they all just magically changed their tune when they realized how many dumb sheep, like yourself, supported the orange turd.

preventative healthcare is a fraction of the cost compared to dealing with a health issue once it has gotten bad.
People without insurance still get treated.. they don't pay and then people with insurance end up having to pay more to cover it anyway.
The only way your argument works is if hospitals get to turn away people without insurance/money and thus let them die or deal with it on their own (whatever the case may be for not treating something).
@hurryinghoosiers defund bail projects climate zealotry welfare gas inflation open borders Fing with minors. No one with an iq above 70 relates to u hickory. You’re incredibly stupid. I would not be surprised to learn you’re in assisted living.
@larsiu I'm arguing it comes with major trade offs and it's not sustainable. Especially where we are with current debt levels and demographics.
How many societies have collapsed because of military expenditures? You would be troubled to find a more wasteful entity in human history than the U.S. military. The Bush Wars are going to end up costing 10+ trillion alone. With all that said we still need a military because there are bad actors in the world and they'll come a knocking if you don't have one, but they're not efficient with tax dollars. Thankfully, military eats up only 3% GDP now.
The healthcare sector is 6-7x larger. If we go to a single payer system one of two things will happen. Either we will further blow out the deficits and speed up our demise or drastically cut back on actual healthcare for people. Most likely a combination of both. I'd much rather go back to pre Obamacare. Liberals love to point towards Europe, but the model isn't sustainable. Not to mention the trade offs they have are lower GDPs, smaller houses, less discretionary spending, shitty military, less innovation, and etc. And a dying continent. A 100 years ago 25% of the population lived in Europe.

Look, I wish all the programs worked and we could afford them, but that's not where we are at. We can do some things for some people. And if we're being honest we're already doing too many things for too many people. It's not sustainable. All of this comes at cost.
@hurryinghoosiers they do that now. You’re only entitled to emergent care. Stabilized and out the door. Ongoing is not the law
I get where you're coming from, just attacking the "command economy" fallacy in your argument. What's good for the goose....etc.I’d much rather go back to pre Obamacare.
Also, I'm sure I'd much rather go back to pre Obamacare when shit was cheaper. But we cover pre-existing conditions now. That genie isn't going back in the bottle. So why don't we attack it in a way that covers the greatest number of people for the smallest cost. Which is single payor. Additionally, that single payor would have the ability to streamline and create efficiencies which do not exist today.
It's not without faults but pretending we can't do better than Europe is defeatist. Moonshot. Let's do it.

@snarlcakes Sidebar - looking to diversify against the eventual AI takeover (or bubble, either way). What's the best way to buy bitcoin? I don't wanna be one of those gold freaks.
President-elect Donald Trump has been declared the unofficial winner of the 2024 presidential election. More than 90 percent of counties shifted in favor of President-elect Trump in the 2024 presidential election, according to a preliminary analysis by the New York Times, improving his vote margin from 2020 in more than 2,300 counties.

you're obviously a moron. you refuse to learn. what do you think was the reason behind this shift? trump was the same guy who ran in 2020 and lost. or do you think a reasonable person would recognize that it is all the things i've listed. YOU are a cancer to your party. if i were a dem. a dem on this board. i'd light your ass up. YOU are why dems will lose and lose and lose and lose. If i hated trump i wouldn't be screaming trump sucks. i'd be screaming hickory you fing moron wake up. YOU are why trump wins
@larsiu why not both?!!! but love this!!!!!!!! @snarlcakes extend him an invite. thx
@larsiu if you have an advisor have them buy one of the ETFs and talk about what percentage of your portfolio is reasonable (they'll probably say 1-5%). It's also best for tax purposes. If you want to buy it yourself, Coinbase is my first choice.
@mcm666 if he says no, we'll just swing by 3UP on trivia night and kidnap his a#%.
