I didn’t know where to put this. But I’m going to bet this likely teen murderer will not have benefited from the warm embrace of a loving family.

how do we solve this? Arrest the parent(s)? Hold the a likely single mother accountable?what the actual fuck is a 14 y/o doing in downtown Indy committing armed robbery/murder? No doubt his childhood has been horrific. It’s devastating to even ponder.

@larsiu and this is exactly why anyone with a functioning brain will never vote for a democrat.  butch and hurrying and shooter and mark with their incessant trump vapid blinkard bs f right off.  forest for the trees.  that's somebody's kid.  this shit is DAILY in cities.  this was last night here.  and every night here.  14.  17.  had a gun.  of course.  released right away. per usual.  will be out again tonight with guns.  to murder some poor sap coming home from soccer.  and the progressive woke clown kunt of a mayor is posting about the upcoming pride parade taking selfies with drag queens.  shame about teh "event."  we should all denounce "gun violence."   anyone who votes for this iteration of democrat for anything is a moron or living in a bubble somewhere removed from reality.  released to their crack head mom if we're going to be honest.  Spencer Pratt shockingly gets it.  Vote out every Dem in every election everywhere

 – A group of four people attempted to break into cars parked along Juniata Street overnight in St. Louis’ Tower Grove South neighborhood, police say.

St. Louis police detained two teenagers, 17 and 14 years old. Two others escaped from the scene when officers arrived.

Officers responded to the scene around 1 a.m. after neighbors spotted teenagers tampering with and trying to break into cars.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that the 17-year-old boy was found in possession of a handgun

Authorities contacted the juvenile detention center, which declined to hold the teenagers, so they were released to their parents.

Support for the nuclear family was one of the first victims of a society in constant search for more examples of oppression and discrimination.  The significance of the traditional nuclear family on a healthy society is obvious and recognizing that fundamental fact is in no way oppressive or discriminatory against other familial groups.

I think the governor is on the right track.

The dumb bigot is just trying to overshadow pride month.  Anyone can see right through that.

@larsiu many of us are done caring. Draft statutes that try then as adults and throw away the key. 14 with a gun. No bond.  Trial and a life in prison.  You don’t get the right to take the life of another no matter your age.  The system never contemplated what we have today.  It’s time to restructure it

Hogsett and Mears are going to under a ton of pressure to move this to adult court. This kid was let down by his parents first and foremost  but also by culture and society. Holding the parents accountable is one thing but we have to do better as a society.   no way this kid wasn’t identified as having issues in school or elsewhere. Was anything done? Did we just turn a blind eye? Keep passing him through school? Never question the anger issues or whatever cropped up?

Is this kid salvageable at 14. Is the damage done? Probably. That’s fucking twisted.

@larsiu it’s just exhausting. Fatigue is so real.  There’s a guy here who was the lead singer of a band called the urge. Had some national success. Black guy. Just a gem of a human. Always giving back. He oped a hotdog shop in the city. Steve’s hotdogs. I’m not a fan but the kids like it and I love going to spend money there bc of him. Two straight nights in the middle of the night, last night and prior, a rando has busted out his windows. You can watch the video.  And all the comments are like dude get the f out of the city.  What are you doing. Just come to the burbs. And he’s like no no I’m here to help. Anyway it’s a multifaceted issue that requires so much but my absolute boiling disdain for the Dem party is nothing I ever thought possible as a 25 year Dem

Death penalty.  We’ll never do it as a society since half of us will say it ain’t the kid’s fault, but this kid is a piece of shit that will never contribute to society.  Something that cannot be fixed is deeply wrong with him beyond just outside influences.  Best you can do is vote R & hope that when this shit does happen, including crime by illegals, it happens to the people that vote these policies into office…

@oneeyedundertaker and i don't give a fck about trump.  dc bs is baked in.  he's been absolutely terrible as a president and to me personally but oh well.  the local shit is what we live with day in and out.  where we eat.  where we park.  if we can take the train or sorry buddy it's not looking great today.  they're doing drugs and gambling on this train car.  i mean wtf.  and i think we've reached the point where voting R isn't enough.  you have to start stroking checks locally.  fund R's running.  it's that important if you value public safety, and your community.  whatever it takes to make sure democrats don't win

I firmly believe in the range of things you can say are a 14 year old kid's fault, being a cold blooded murderer (I'm talking generally, we don't konw about this incident) isn't in that range. The "cause" has to be from other things; normal 14 year olds just don't end up like that without something serious going on in their circumstances, or they have relatively normal circumstances and are genetically or biologically abnormal (affecting brain chemistry, thinking, etc.) or both.

That said, I also am not sure many are salvageable. And that is tragic.

@bradstevens that foundational stuff that we all count on. Social contract yes but more basic even. To value life.  Seems missing.  14 is a grade schooler.   And it’s terribly sad but I too am beginning to think it isn’t always salvageable. And I’m not going to put my family in harm’s way voting for people who think it is via defund bail projects court reform etc

It might not be "their fault," but that doesn't mean some of these kids aren't dangerous.  Some progressives don't seem to understand that.

@bradstevens absolutely.  And there’s phony ass progressives who are opportunistic but there are also sincere well-meaning progressives who are genuinely all heart that get this wrong and it transcends crime to economics and so many other things
