I will say it is reasonable and ok to explain specific behaviors of a black guy based on his life experience as a black. It’s unreasonable and wrong to assign certain behaviors and thoughts to a black guy because he is black. I hope you see the difference. Kelly showed he was camped in the latter.This is a “good-faith” analysis of two possible interpretations of Kelly’s sentence, the first you consider reasonable and the second, unreasonable. You could magnanimously give Kelly the benefit of your doubt assigning him the first, but instead you choose to cynically impugn him with the second based on your experience with his prior statements and Democrats in general. Scientists that weren't pilots, such as astronaut geologist Jack Schmitt, allowed deeper discovery. Later, biologists, chemists, materials scientists were all part of crews. I don't think it is at all a "radical nutcase" point of view to posit that differing life experiences among a crew, as well as different degrees and expertise, also adds to the potential for success.

The overlooked absurdity of CoH’s point is that Kelly said “like me.” As you point out, that doesn’t necessarily preclude seven white males fitting Kelly’s criteria. Using MyM’s taco example, all seven tacos might have a white shell but be entirely unique on the inside.
