Kimmel crossed a line. Joking about the death of a loved one is not a good- natured or amusing insult one associates with a “roast”. Especially when said loved one had been a target for murder.
I said Kimmel should be fired. Period. That is not “overwrought fainting-couch level response” to a pretty standard joke on Kimmel's part. Nor is it “nothing but outrage, condensed and purified.” In fact your response fits that bill.
Do you think Trump should be fired? He has said far worse about people who have died (and they certainly have loved ones). And his weren't even in a joking manner.
Can't have it both ways.

That's different.
For the 100th time, it was NOT a roast.
It was part of his opening monologue on his late night talk show, in the studio. Trump wasn't there. Melania wasn't there. It was set up to LOOK like a roast, because every other time the correspondents dinner was held there was a comedian hosting it, with Kimmel hosting it at least once. So the schtick was, if I were hosting it instead of a "mentalist", then this is what it would look like.
Geesh, basic facts explained clearly and simply don't seem to penetrate your noggin.

As has already been demonstrated to you multiple times by multiple posters, that's objectively and verifiably not what he did. As part of a skit, he reused a decades-old joke about younger wives of older, richer husbands perhaps secretly counting down the days until they finally inherit. The biggest problem with the joke was simply that it wasn't original. In fact, it would be considered mild in most roasts (or in this case, a skit about an imagined roast). Nobody noticed it or had reason to complain about it for two and a half days. And then, Trump and his wife went on social media and bitched, and all of a sudden you and all your fellow Outrage Lemmings immediately realize it was the WORST. THING. EVER. And Kimmel needs to be fired! This is despicable! GRRRRRRRR!
You sound like a fucking lunatic in this thread. Come back to Earth, please.
Trump deserves everything he got for his callous Mueller message.
Didn't exactly answer the question....
You might have a future in government service. 😜
Could it be that this could be considered as part of that "everything" he deserves?Trump deserves everything he got for his callous Mueller message.

Cash money says COH didn't realized the joke had been made two days beforehand, and once he jumped in like he did he can't back off.
Civil Society has a label for a joke that doesn’t work: it fell flat. You have a different label for such a failed joke: execute the comedian.
By the way, there is a reason we are giving you so much airtime on this. We respect you.
