The concepts of liberty, limited and separated governmental powers, and the unbelievable and unlikely success of the Colonists will be discussed. Starring George Washington.
I've been amped up for this since the project was announced. Too bad Trump and Braun want to kill it.

Those two Twitter Twit Tweets are absolutely irrelevant to the documentary we're discussing. I know you don't have two thoughts in your head to rub together and generate a little heat, so you'll need to do a better Twitter search to find something relevant. What you might find is likely to be false and stupid, but that would be as expected.
Trump and Braun want to kill public broadcasting. Kill public broadcasting, and there's no more Ken Burns. This film will air, but whether it's his last is up in the air.

I thought you meant they have objections to the documentary for some reason. PBS gets less than 15 percent of its funding from the federal government. It's less than 2 percent for NPR. I don't think any effort to kill public broadcasting will succeed.

So typical shitlib histrionics then in an effort to elicit an equally ridiculous response from the other side of the crazy coin...subsequently taking a thread completely off topic and into the giggleweeds to be choked out?
Congrats, I guess...
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
I wonder if it will cover Shay's Rebellion at the end? I've seen some historians call it the last battle of the revolution, and others the first American civil war.
My son recently took a test including it and got the question wrong. We went over it and I asked him to go find it in his reading. He said they never covered it. Bullshit, was my response. Sure enough, I found it, but it was only covered in a few sentences within a broader point about the inadequacies of the Articles of Confederation.
I looked and there is no feature film on Shay's Rebellion. @hoosboot, I'm dead serious: a nuanced film on this from all angles--the rebels, the response, Jefferson, Hamilton, Washington response, etc.--is an Oscar winner in waiting. Super timely, too.

Well, much like the Trump administration having problems with the Smithsonian exhibits, if Ken Burns even suggests that any founding father was less than a 100% perfect angel, you can be sure that there will be loud MAGA whining.

Burns is good enough that he would find adequate funding even if there were no PBS.

well, I’m no Maga, but I always object to historical inaccuracies, especially (for example) people who call modern day Republicans “Nazis“. That particular sport has caused more damage to this nation‘s ability to effectively discuss social problems, social policies, and effective government, than anything since the idiots who were slave owners, caused succession, took their justified ass-whipping, and whipped up Jim Crow just to make themselves feel like they still had some kind of dick in their britches

But only PBS would have taken a chance on Brooklyn Bridge.
