Stock Market experts: any worries about an AI bubble?

My retirement accounts are a little more highly leveraged to tech stocks via sector mutual funds and have been going gangbusters. I have less in Dow stocks and little to nothing in crypto or commodities like gold or silver.

Recent gains, a near doubling over the past 3 years, blow historical average yearly gains (7-10%)  out of the water. I expect to retire in ~5 years so I'm getting a little anxious about talk of a tech or AI bubble that might lead to an extended bear market.

Are any of you shifting investments around for that reason? I don't expect financial advice, but I am mostly just wondering if my anxiety is widely shared.

You should put 100% in big pharma.  Now that they’ve figured out how profitable a pandemic can be for them, the “experts” that shill for them,  & the pols they have in their pocket, it’s guaranteed we’ll see another in a few years.

One. Trick. Pony.

I have minimal investments in the big pharma sector.  Some in biotech though.

With respect to health care I have one fund with a LOT of Insurance company investments. Of course, if progressives someday get their way on medicare for all, those insurance plays would tank bigly, it stands to reason.

Put it in Amazon.  You can question his morals but Jeff knows how to make money.

Oh yay. A post where someone brags about their investment prowess to ostensibly ask for investment advice.

You should seek out the advice of a financial advisor to address your concerns.  With 5 years to go, you should to see if there are products like annuities or structured notes that might help.  Also, run some Monte Carlo simulations to make sure you are in good shape to retire.  May want to address estate planning as well as potential long term care.

Oh yay, another post where you act like a jerk for no reason. I said I wanted no investment advice and I simply asked if people were worried about a tech/AI bubble. If you don't want to answer,  you could ignore it. But no... jerk mode, engaged!

The bear case is the market is extremely frothy.  One of the scariest chart is the U.S. stock market is currently 225% of GDP.  Long term average range is somewhere around 60-120%.

The bull case is AI (40% of the growth this year) is transformational like the internet or Industrial Revolution.  If that is true then the market is likely undervalued and will continue with outsized gains.  I pay close to attention to Tesla's and driverless cars.  If AI is truly destructive to labor, it's going to be unreal for company profits.

Other bull cases are deficit spending (we're still spending 1.7 trillion) and the administration has been very vocal their goal is to grow, grow, grow.  With midterms coming up next year I believe them.  Forgot to mention trade deals should get done as well. China purchased a 180,000 tons of soybeans today.
