My previous piece and I’ve spent 6-7 weekends gardening and (mostly) me being reminded why she’s the previous piece.
Just like that, this weekend after canning some green beans and peppers while setting watching some Hallmark type fvckin show (with my hearing aids turned totally off). She tells me “I just heard a ping” ( it’s a canning event).
Just then, I was reminded that the road to forever doesn’t always go in a straight line.

@bradstevens he’s honestly like something out of movie or a book. But not any old book a great American novel.
McMurtry is obviously known primarily for the lonesome dove series but the last picture show books are wonderful. I absolutely love Duane the main character in his later years. When he just up and moves out of the house and to the edge of town. Joe posts stuff with little morsels of info that always make me think of Duane.
I'm thinking Joe has been someones' Huckleberry more than once in his S. Indiana sojourn.
