I don't know what "big things" you have in mind, but all he needs to do to satisfy me is play the game the way it's supposed to be played in today's day and age. The wins should come. The little bit of film I've seen tells me they like to make the extra pass and can score in waves. The two comebacks against the Serbian team tells me that CDD knows how to make adjustments and can get the kids fired up enough to pull shit like that off. I'm cautiously optimistic, with realistic expectations.
Do what Pope, Dusty, and Kelsey did last season. Flip it in year 1.

Bill Mallory gave us some good years and got our expectations up, only to take a step back. We got greedy and shit canned him for the hot new up and comer in Cam Cameron. Same thing happened with Crean and Archie Miller.

Aiden Derkack (top 50)…I don’t know if IU is going to push for him. He does a whole lot of things well but he continues to struggle as a perimeter shooter. If IU pushes, they should get a visit and have a chance. For what it’s worth, I think he could be a good addition to a class of four or five if the others are solid to good shooters.
Miika Muurinen – Center (top 20)…he didn’t play AAU this season so he’s off the radar but his recruitment could anywhere.

No one has ever sucked the enjoyment out of watching IU basketball for me quite like Mike Woodson did.

We need to not play stupid basketball, see some hope with our coach, and have at least a big upset this year and we’ll be starting back. I’m not making any predictions until I see them a few times, but it appears there were some positives in Puerto Rico.
