Based on this guy's arrest, it would appear that Britain is more woke than the U.S.

Maybe. Either way, I don't think this is a very good example of the UK being woke. I just think it's a good example of how non-US countries deal with free speech. If we have a law against abusive speech, we have to weight it against the First Amendment. They don't.

If all the guy was doing was saying, "I think trans women should get punched in the balls," then that would obviously be protected. I got the impression he was promoting a specific threat against a specific person, which might lead to the kind of imminent danger necessary to qualify for a free speech exception.
The UK, you don't need all that. Look how they shut down Palestine Action. Don't need an imminent threat, there. Just need to declare them an illegal organization, and boom, public support gets you arrested.
So, again, I don't think this is about the UK being more woke. I think it is about the UK not having a First Amendment.
