If the IRG desires to return to the 4th century, in my opinion, we should do our best to help them completely and fully experience it… The Europeans and the Chinese may want to be consulted over that last move however (Kharg Islands destruction).
Possible Special Operations raids to destroy isolated IRG units (and support CIA insurrection operations) might be something we hear about having happened several months from now…
If the Commander in Chief allows our forces to “take the gloves off” and surgically destroy the IRG piecemeal, then it will be up to the Iranian people as to whether they want to attempt to take their country back from the madmen currently running it. I don’t hold out much hope for that occurring.
Their command structure has multiple built in redundancies that don’t allow normal leadership decapitation operations to be successful… A “win” would probably look like a nearly complete destruction of their infrastructure while leaving the remnants of the IRG severely weakened but nominally still in control… At that point it’s up to the CIA to attempt to arm the general populace and hope for the best… Personally, I don’t hold out much hope for a general uprising…
If we destroy their ability to pump, move and sell their oil then the failure of their financial base should set them back a couple of years before they’re able to rebuild their atomic program and support their international terror operations to the degree that they have in the past… At that point it’ll be up to the Israelis to go back and “mow the lawn” every couple of years…
I doubt we’ll ever see another sitting US president have the balls (as in being too afraid of losing political power for their respective party) to hit them again (which is why we need to flatten them as much as possible now)…
That’s an Extremely simplistic overview of what I “think” is about to happen but I think it’s a fair approximation of what “might” happen if we decide to “finish” the job without committing to a large scale ground force action. *(And committing large scale ground forces is what we shouldn’t do because that’s exactly what the IRG desires we do as it would allow them to temporarily rally the general population to their side)…*
