His administration largely ignored the southern border crisis for three years and then finally addressed it when they realized it was a huge political liability in the 2024 presidential election cycle. And what they did (they got behind Lankford’s bipartisan border bill) was too little, too late.
Now, back to my post. I simply stated the irrefutable fact that inflation is higher now than it was at the end of Biden’s term.

First, his tariffs and trade policy. In July, he reimposed sweeping global tariffs, ranging from 10% to 12.5%, on more than 80 countries. Applying duties to imported, unfinished goods increases domestic production costs, which are then passed on to consumers.
Next, his Middle East war has been fueling higher prices for many months. Shortly after he started bombing Iran, Iranian leadership closed the Strait of Hormuz to virtually all maritime traffic. The largest energy supply disruption in modern history sent fuel prices soaring. That, in turn, has caused prices on many other goods to spike because of increased transportation/shipping costs.
You may not like those facts, but they’re incontrovertible.
Trump is badly underwater among American voters on his handling of the economy. In recent polling, a majority of voters said their top issue is the high cost of living. Recent polling also finds voters trust Dems more than Republicans on the economy. This is a huge liability for Republicans in the midterms, and will cost them both chambers.

Reading that article, there is a bit of confusion there. Was the wall being dismantled, or were the taking away parts that were never installed? Both are mentioned:
"The Biden administration is reportedly spending its final weeks quietly clearing away unused southern border wall materials to put up for auction "
"The materials were left unused following President Biden’s decision to stop the wall’s construction".
I mean, if we are talking about ripping down sections of wall, then I absolutely agree that is horrible. If we are talking about unused parts sitting on the ground that were never going to be used and they were hauling them away, that's a completely different situation.

Listen, I will absolutely agree that Biden was bad for immigration. That point isn't really in dispute.
But this argument about the wall is being blown a bit out of proportion.

This is the area west of Nogales at what looks to be a construction site for the wall. Now pan west. There's no wall there for about 5 miles. The reason there was no wall there is because it's harsh desert mountainous country. The southern wall has existed in places it had to be for decades. The reason a wall was never built there is because, it didn't have to be. It's bloody expensive to build, can't be monitored by personnel, and since we have seen with several videos that two dudes and a rope ladder can defeat the wall, they didn't bother putting a wall there because it's easier for the ladder guys to cross in Nogales than to travel by foot 5 miles out into the middle of nowhere. Have you ever hiked in desert hill country? Seriously, you'd be lucky to make 3-5 miles a day (and it's 5 miles out, 5 miles back to civilization).
The wall was stupid there. It was never finished and I'd rather the steel (which is bloody expensive now, in case you haven't looked) be used for something useful.
