I have several friends and/or their spouses who live(d)/work(ed) in Portland. One owned a small business and finally closed it and moved with his wife to Tennessee last year. Another who moved to rural Arizona with her husband to escape it. Yet another who was making plans to GTFO but had a series of strokes a few months ago and is now in a LTC/rehab facility and likely will be staying indefinitely. They've all told me over the years how bad it has gotten there and while anecdotal I tend to believe them.

And yes, they have part of a city block where some protestors have gotten way way carried away, trashed property, and hopefully most were arrested for it. It is sure to bring them back out when diaper Donnie brings in the troops. Which is what he wants-- to create chaos and then pretend that he needs more masked thugs to knock down the chaos that he created.

This is funny.ICE agents beat up an 84 year old American woman and her 84-year old husband, a Vietnam war veteran who uses a walker to get around. She was left with a concussion after ICE agents struck her with a projectile, after pepper spraying her and her husband.
They were attending a peaceful protest. He had affixed homemade anti-ICE signs to his walker. The couple joined the neighborhood protest on a spur of the moment when they saw the kickoff rally from their kitchen window. They live in the neighborhood and walk past the ICE building daily with their dog.
“We didn’t want to give the feds any excuses so we were staying away from the protests deliberately,” Eckman (the woman) said. “But this group looked so benign, so peaceful, we thought we should join them."
The group walked to the ICE facility. No profanity, no threats, just chants and signs by a small, peaceful group. A large group of federal agents suddenly burst out of the building and rushed at the protesters standing nearby, smashing the the couple to the ground.
Several eyewitnesses confirmed the couple’s account to The Oregonian/OregonLive and Eckman said a group of other protesters immediately surrounded her to help, including a doctor.
After the beatdown and after they were able to get a block away, they were approached by four Portland police officers who wanted to make sure they were OK and stated that police had been ordered to stay a block away so as not to interfere with the activities of the gestapo the secret police force.
Eckman said she and her husband, who served 10 years in active duty, are shocked at the federal agents’ behavior.
“I never thought federal officers could behave this way. I really didn’t,” she said. “I always thought people must be provoking them or something, that they would never do this unprovoked. Obviously, I was wrong.”
And the couple want the world to know Portland protesters are not trouble makers.
“People have to know that we are not Antifa,” she said. “We’re just regular Portlanders who love our city, and my husband, being a Vietnam veteran, is incensed that we’re talking about war within our own country. This is outrageous, really.”

I have to my knowledge never directed any type of profanity at QParker. His toward me was uncalled for and was unidirectional.
I sometime strayed into retaliatory name-calling and personal insults with McMurt and Favra in the past, for sure. I even called McMurt a C-word, in posts I later deleted.
