I'm okay with the Pakis they've got in the clinics.
One aspect is the affiliation with the hospitals gets you into the hospital quickly if necessary. When my wife got so sick, the Urgent Care people said she needed to go to the emergency room and arranged for her ahead of time. She was seen immediately, no waiting for hours.
@spartans9312 but it isnt. It’s that in theory. If you actually didn’t have insurance you’d still get a shit ton written off. Bc these hospital numbers are a fiction. Theyre bs
I do not know about anyone else here, I cannot get in to see my primary care nurse practitioner unless she has a cancellation. The walk-in clinics are packed, unless you make an appointment it is a long wait.
FWIW, the wife and I have used the IU Health Urgent Care walk-ins a handful of times and have gotten prompt service. Got called in to see the practitioner within 15-20 minutes.
I must get sick at the wrong times. The last time I went to the east side one I had an 11AM appointment and didn't get in until 3. They had a guy show up with chest pains, so they called an ambulance. The EMTs told him not to go to IU, even with a heart attack he wouldn't be seen immediately as they were swamped, they talked him into Monroe.

In the wife's situation, I checked online ahead of time. Westside was backed up for maybe 45 minutes, while Eastside was essentially zero wait.

Nobody is paying $7500 for a MRI. If no one had insurance it’s going to be real close to that $350 number. Why? They want your money. Same with meds. Insulin wouldn’t be $200 a box. It would be a reasonable number where the company thought they could sell product.
Thats fascinating.@bradstevens so this is insane. My partner who had the stroke didn’t have health insurance. He’s like a chunky Jew version of Burt in deliverance. Just doesn’t have it. Despises insurance companies. He’s also worse with money than I. I know what he makes. About $750k a year. So he was paying for his medical treatment and therapy out of pocket. The amount that he has gotten them to write off is absurd. And I don’t believe it’s being spread. I believe it was inflated to begin with and they have that much room. Costs costs costs. MRIs to surgeries are insanely elevated here compared to other countries. You get an er bill. A Dr bill. A surgery center bill. A hospital bill. A physicians group bill. It’s fckd
The real tragedy in all this...

I have a middling insurance plan. I pay what I consider a very reasonable premium. My out-of-pocket costs are almost zero. My medications are $10 for a three month supply for generics. I absolutely can't understand where all this expensive health care is. And yet I know it's there, because the numbers don't lie. We spend way too much on health care. But I'm not the one spending it.
1.3 million active duty military will get $100 each? Must be a joke.https://twitter.com/nicksortor/status/1981465755343605915?t=y_n8aYLws3js3t9EBT9icA&s=19

You still don't get billionaire math.
You apparently don’t get math at all.1.3 million active duty military will get $100 each? Must be a joke.https://twitter.com/nicksortor/status/1981465755343605915?t=y_n8aYLws3js3t9EBT9icA&s=19

Someone may have sent it in but it is complete horseshit that it is being used to pay troops.

Hope you're right. Last thing we need is a military being paid by private individuals.
