LOL. As if that will make any difference.

Somebody's getting a contract or a pardon or something.

it should go to the Treasury and that’s helpful. However, that doesn’t even pay a day of salary for the active duty military. It’s about 100 bucks each.

Headline says government won’t fund food stamps expiring next month if gubmint still shutdown.

I sure hope Soros funds some before Trump has to call out the National Guard

Good news! Even though the Trump administration is planning on (illegally, most likely) using private funds to pay troops (not enough to cover their actual pay, of course), they will absolutely follow the letter of the law when it comes to SNAP! Even though they have the money, they will not pay out food stamps because the funds haven't been appropriated by Congress! Good on them for understanding separation of powers, even if this is literally the only context in which they display such understanding!

The Kommie channel is reporting that even within departments, some are getting paid and some aren't. In DHS and DOJ, the stormtroopers and jackboots are getting their checks, but the admin people and support staffs are getting stiffed.

Fetterman says Pubs need to nuke the filibuster to reopen the government.  Thoughts Dems?

I'd be fine with it. Filibuster needs to die, anyway. Let the GOP take the blowback for it (what little there is).

Too bad about all those losing their coverage. Collateral damage, I suppose.

True, and that is a problem. But if the Republicans get 2 more years owning all branches you don't think those people are going to be injured by all sorts of similar policies?

No one wins either way. Even if the Dems take back Congress, they can't stop Trump from acting as long as the Supremes give him a blank check. It will take a generation or more to recover from what Trump has wrought, if ever. I despair for our country.

Recovery was impossible years ago. The four-year interregnum that was the Biden admin was simply a pause, and it wasn't really a pause, because the real problems were still there and kept getting worse.

I do think it's time for us to stop talking about what Trump wrought, however, and start putting the blame where it belongs: his supporters. If democracy dies in America, it won't be because Trump killed it; it will be because his voters did.

Wow! No blame for the horrible Biden Administration and current Democrat Leadership. SMH.

We are talking about two different things. Biden was a bad president. Trump is a constitution-destroying president. (That's small-c on purpose, for those who will understand.)

I like the filibuster and we need it.  It forces compromise and cooperation.  The reason the filibuster is a problem is because nobody compromises or cooperates with the other side.  Legislation by power and combat is a new phenomenon that must go.
